My wife and I camped here in our 20' compact travel trailer from August 11 - 14, 2025. Overall it was a fun experience but there were a few quirks about the facilities that could be improved. We'd made our reservation about a month out, and the campground was only about half full when we arrived. After reviewing the campground's map we decided to reserve Site #11 because it was close to the restroom/shower facility (50 yards walk away) and it was on the outside of the loop road that circles the campground. We made our reservation about a month out, and the campground was only about half full when we arrived. The morning of our arrival date, we called park's office to see what was the best time to arrive since this campground is part of the Rock Springs lazy river water park and it's often super crowded during the weekends and most summer days whenever the kids are out of school. The staff told us that we should get there about 12:00 pm even though the official check-in isn't until 2:00 pm. We actually got there about 1:00 pm and there was a police car and armed deputy at the gate to deter young gate runners after the Rock Springs area hits its 350 visitor limit each morning shortly after it opens. When we checked in at the office (near the springs), the staff was very pleasant and gave us a map and instructions on how to get into the campground. You have to drive back outside the park's perimeter fence, then drive north about a quarter mile, and then go in through a keypad coded entrance gate to access the campground. This prevents hooligans from trying to get into the Rock Springs swimming area via the campground after the park reaches its max capacity once the park opens at 8:00 am (almost every day during the summer). Before we'd arrived, we'd read online that all the campground sites had concrete pads, but where we got there, we learned that the concrete pads were really to elevate the picnic tables off the dusty and sandy terrain below them (not to park your rig on), so we wound up parking on the dirt. Additionally, the shore power box was correctly located on the left side of my camper as I backed it in, but the water hose spigot was on the opposite side of the site, so my water hose wasn't long enough to connect my camper to it. It was not that big of deal, but just made no sense to me on why they laid the site's hookups out in this manner. The restroom/shower house was relatively new and had four shower bays (one large one for ADA) one urinal, and one double sink (see my interior photos). The water pressure in the showers was a bit on the low side, so you had to run the water for about 3 minutes before the hot (warm) water came out of the shower head. The double sink where you shave (for men) had those annoying push button water-saver valves (instead of spigots), no hot water and no shelf to lay your ditty bag on. Additionally, there is no AC in the restrooms, so it was a bit steamy inside during August. As far as cleanliness, we only showered late in the afternoon during our 3 night stay, so by that time of day, the floor was somewhat muddy because the cleaning was done early in the mornings. There are no sewer hook ups at any of the campsites but they do have a dump station and rinse hose on the road exiting the campground. The nice thing about this campground is that you can walk about 300 yards south and enjoy the Rock Spring lazy river area, which is really beautiful and refreshing to tube and swim particularly during the hot summer months. There are also two nice hiking trails here at the park that area easy to navigate and have some good scenery. Other challenges associated with this campground is it's located in a rural area, and there is only one place outside the gate about a mile away to get dinner and drinks (and it's kind of a biker bar, but with friendly people). We stopped in there for a beer, but for dinners we drove to Mount Dora (12 miles NW) which has some excellent restaurants.
Amazing! So much wildlife and the springs are amazing. We saw otters swimming in the water and seen 2 bears as well. Such a fun time. If not camping, need to arrive very early because they close the park down at capacity.
Great camping experience. The family loved this park. A little hike down to the springs and swimming area but overall a great camp ground. Clean facilties. The site was big and spacious.
Absolutely wonderful! They have done such an amazing job with the renovations! Everything so well planned and constructed, beautiful. The campsites are spacious and the restrooms are always so, so clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The spring, well you just have to see it and jump in - it is gorgeous - the photos do not really show the beauty.
Took my kids on their first camping trip. They loved it. Park wasn't busy at all work it being cooler... but word to the wise.. the water feels warm when it's cold outside.. camp is excellent. Almost too well maintained because bathrooms are constantly closed for cleaning.
Awesome park for tubing. Show up very early, even before they open. The car line up down the street, and the park reaches capacity very fast every day. They have a natural water hole that creates a crystal clean water lazy river. You can get on your tube for what feels like 30+ minutes the walk back to the top of the spring and re-do. Super clean beautiful water.
This was our first time camping at Kelly Park and we loved it. Very accessible and clean campsites. We will definitely be back again.
