It’s good when you have the ppl you love with go and hang out with you and the family that makes memories together. After many years of trying to get to Crystal lake we finally found it, good hike up or a drive up and the campgrounds where awesome we got one really big area and was worth every penny!!! Looking forward to amour yearly summer trips!!!
This is the best campground in the first-come, first-served category where we spent two nights. Firewood is available for $25 a lot. Bears are active at night; we heard bear horns blown both nights and one camper even shared a story about a bear taking an ice chest from a truck. The campground offers pit/vault toilets, though they aren't very clean. Water is available, and there's a campground store for food and camping supplies. We enjoyed our stay. Crystal Lake is approximately one mile away by car, followed by a 10-minute hike.
It's a long and winding road up the mountain to get here, but it's all worth the drive! It's breathtaking beautiful up here. The air up here is wonderful. The campground was clean and instructions easy. There are restrooms around thecampsited that's easy to get to, also fairly clean. There are fire pits and the ground is not hard to stake your tent down into. Beautiful trees, lots of oaks. There is a small Cafe/shop across the street if you need anything. The guy running the store is super friendly and helpful. There are absolutely no lights around the campsite after dark so be sure to bring your own. Saw some squirrels, heard some woodpeckers and other various birds, but didn't see any other animals, although I have heard others seeing bigger animals on the campground. It is bear country, but luckily didn't run into any. It is amazing to look at the stars at night up here! The wind was very high later in the night. It's a great spot for camping!
Hi to all tourists coming over are visiting this amazing place. Definitely come over to check out all the trails and check out the lake. Please contact Adam if you want to rent out a cabin for you or your family. If you want to camp out you could come early to find your spot and one thing be careful with wild bears 🐻. Please don't leave trash out bears searching for food .
Great place to go camping. Quiet during the week and no cell service, dogs allowed, up to 14 day stays at 12$ a night. Plenty of shaded camping spots with water spouts and a fire pit. Trash cans and restrooms are easily accessible from all sites with a small walk. Best not to camp directly next to restroom. The little store is convenient and the people are nice.
My family and I ended up here by accident on a venture to go fishing! No regrets. Several trails and neat little areas to set up a bonfire and enjoy each other’s company. The view from the trail that leads to the lake (picture 1) is breathtaking! Make sure to plan well ahead of time though, because cell signal may waver in and out. Overall, it was a truly energetic and enjoyable time at this location.
Too many people. I think it’s a local close camp that feels far away for many people but it’s a bit full and not enjoyable because of the people. Not the cleanest. Condoms used on the street pull overs where people should be able to enjoy look outs. Not a choice for us but please hopefully we joy for any first timers!
