I went to Market Hotel for the first time last night for a "Recession Pop" party and had so much fun! They were playing 2008 hits like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Christina Aguilera, and everyone was dancing nonstop. The energy was amazing but still very chill. People were just enjoying themselves and vibing.Watching the subway pass by through the windows while dancing was such a unique NYC experience. I also tried two Frozen Passionfruit drinks. So delicious.Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fun throwback night with good music and a great atmosphere!

It’s a really nice venue. It’s upstairs. I enjoyed it. It was a very intimate setting. They had a nice bar. The performers was great I went to the campfire concert The only thing I didn’t like about the venue was the heat. It was extremely hot, no air conditioner no fan no ventilation other than that. It was phenomenal.

Cool venue with a rugged yet hip vibe. Small and intimate, this place is perfect for alt-rock and indie acts—you get an up-close, high-energy performance that feels personal. If an artist you like is playing here, it’s an absolute must-see.

My first time going, went for the Recession Pop party on Labor Day weekend and I was not disappointed!! They played back to back bangers which had the crowd jumping all through the night . Everyone from the crowd to security was very chill and engaging, making this solo outing the best I've had in some time. It was truly the stuff movies are made of and I can't wait to be back for more!!

What was great about the place? A pleasant atmosphere and a nice concept; a beautiful location, with a window overlooking the street and the subway, which gave it a special touch. The sound quality was good, the restrooms were adequate, and the DJ was friendly, as he was kind enough to play requested songs. The bad stuff? The bartenders were totally rude with us! We ordered two beers at first and at that time we did not give a tip, as we were contemplating tipping at the end of the service night (as it should be!); then when we ordered the second round, one of the ladies explicitly told us: "if next time you don't tip, we will not serve you anymore"... we were like really???!!! You are asking for a tip for opening 4 cans of beer?! Tip is earned by giving a good service and it should be given once the service is completed/finished. This was the very first time that this happened to me: I'm not sure if this is a NYC thing, but refusing service due to no tipping is absolutely ridiculous. Edit: owner definitely does not know about business and customers by replying nonsense in the comments. Here on planet Earth, tip must be earned at the end of the day, not just after buying one can of beer. So sad.

HORROR STORY!!! i have been approached by the security guy claiming someone reported me going around spiking peoples drinks. I did not argue with security or anything just went straight downstairs where I was jumped by a 2-3 guys screaming at me and one punching me 2 times in the head. Security did not want to give me back my coat with me having number at coat check. I had to call the police. The thing is I never even seen any of this people in my life, its crazy to think that some drugged up random person can accuse anyone inside the club and then you get jumped by the security and their friends! This is a crazy avenue and what they did is a criminal offense. If I did not call police on this guys they would never give me back my coat regardless of me holding ticket ready in my hand! Hope they run out of business because this are some serious wrong accusations and practices! So be warned guys with this people and have 911 ready to call on them!

Cute little spot, I had a blast here! Security is on point and didn't make me feel uncomfortable like other venues security does. Make sure to bring a fan and a good bladder though. It gets very hot and the bathroom line is always long.
