Carowinds Camp Wilderness RV

We've stayed here multiple times and have had good experiences. There are two bathhouses. A small store where you check in and catch the shuttle to Carowinds. Most of the drivers are very friendly. There are cabins, spaces for tents and RVs. A nice size swimming pool, volleyball nets and disco golf available.

Paved sites. All sites are full hook ups. Clean. Sites close but not comfortably close. Bath housees are clean and spacious. Free shuttle service to/from Carowinds theme park. Nice pool. Lots of activities.

Nice, big spaces. Great shade, paved roads, and close to Carowinds (they have a shuttle). Small gift shop. 2 washers and driers on site. Was decently quiet, other than the planes headed to and from the airport. Not noticed during the day, but noticeable in the evenings and early mornings. Overall a nice place and we would def come back.

Great sites and the staff is very friendly. Nice being right next to the park and they provide a free shuttle every 30 mins.

Much better than when we stayed about 9 years ago. Not packed with people that live there full time. Sites are mostly dirt. No cable TV. Location was great for us to visit family. Our motorhome got infested with tiny ants. By day 2 they were all over. I spent hours cleaning and spraying to get rid of them. Wish I had a heads-up and would have treated outside and inside before they took over.

This place was just okay when we visited last year. We didn’t like all the mud and dirt due to lack of sunshine getting in to dry things out. A bit too crowded for us also. The RVs are packed in like sardines. Convenient to Carowinds, yes, but worth a visit again? No.

We had a great time. The front desk was very helpful and courteous and knowledgeable. The sight we was at was level and clean. We will be returning again.
