Chesapeake Campground

I moved in here because it was the closest to the shipyard. Great choice. To start the facility is great, I had the full set up site 30 amp water and septic. They do have 50 amp and sites with no septic if that’s all that’s left. I ended up staying the full 120 day limit. They have a fully functional buckees style bathroom with warm tiled showers. There is a laundry but it’s limited and people watch their doggy matts in there, but there’s a great laundromat at Great ridge 15 mins away if you drive speed limit. There is lots of shade, huge trees, it’s quiet, you need a security card to get in so no worries about unwanted visitors. The site sits about a quarter mile from the road so no road noise. My daughter loved hand feeding the horses. They have about 30 or so in the stables. I was fortunate enough that a horse mom let me feed George some apple treats. Overall this place is a gem. I’d stay longer if Virginia allowed it.

I stayed one night on my way north but would love to go back in spring or summer and stay several days. Campground is treed and property is 100 acres of horses, chickens, pastures and wood. Also there is a river accross the street you can canoe/kayak. Staff was nice and price was very good.

Bud bugs after few days thought was ants that|Strange when felt like bite could not find any bug. Start looking around under pillows on side beds and walls. There it was not knowing started google search there it was time after time bed bugs. |Had confirmed it was undead bed bugs. Sleep in truck after through it all stuff in back of truck got new clothes took hot shower di not seen to have problem sleeping in truck but next day the itching burning going completely crazy disbelief. Was what was left all info email pictures as well as pictures of what internet said was can’t be wrong after looking up 20 times and having someone look at. Crazy never got text back phone call email . |At time thought would be pretty easy thang to deal with just needed someone to stay not to take to family. Well that di not happen today got to take my two beds not even 7 months old very nice have pictures electric reclining chair . TO DUMP | Still no care from them not even a hunting so sorry |Not that would have been good enough but dang would have been something. Poor poor |Man tood me they spent hours cleaning before got there smoking was what I was told. Now u know that’s not so. |These cabins are like 13 ‘ by 20’ maybe just enough room . |But not this time had extra visitors

I love this place! It's peaceful, bathhouses are clean, they have horses that you can feed and chicken. The customer service and people that work here are great!

I live full time in my RV. I roll solo with pets. The park is affordable, clean and the staff is super awesome! I feel SAFE!!!

The ppl in the store are kind, made us feel like they've known us forever. They have hand dipped I've cream in the store, also everything you need to camp. The prices are very reasonable. They rent bikes for 2$. My grandkids love it here. Also a creek across the street with kayak, Jon boats, and canoe rentals. The camp sites are nice, with 200ft pine trees, just beautiful. I'd recommend this camp ground to anyone that wants to enjoy yourself. ||||Thank you Chesapeake Camp Ground. See you soon!

Have been to campground never had problems other than normal bugs maybe little extra but was worth. But last time had bed bugs and many biting ants. Had someone come out and confirmed, sent to management as I was ask to nothing not a call not a email.. nothing Very disappointing. Next days had to through away all cloths bedding pillows away lot of stuff was there seem last night had to wash through all in back of truck. Slept in truck Only thing I noticed at first was bits there just thought was ants next door lady tried spraying smooth keep ants out but come to find out it was not ants that were problem IT WAS BED BUGS I have through out my mattress bigger problem than I ever imagined All really wanted was at point of leaving was to help get somewhere to stay until could figured out. Never been through this crazy ride I had no idea was going to go through. I do remember man telling me that they had been cleaning for sometime after people had left because of them smoking, now I see that was just a scam clean up these people are on there way. Not that I know they knew what was they were cleaning or what was in there. Thought they were upstanding people never had problem. But now they not wanted to take even the slightest responsibility is just heartbreaking from place I truly loved. No cal rude they said they would call nothing I have left several messages got nothing they have extra number an email. As well as person that was staying next door that actually saw them had a friend over to her that confirmed that it was indeed no doubt bed bugs. All with some normal bugs. Just very hurt by family owned camping was so non caring.
