Located just outside Fort Carson Army Base gate #6 and south of Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Camp Hale is a nice and affordable RV park for eligible military ID cardholders visiting Colorado Springs. The full hookup sites can be reserved 2 months in advance. Check-in is at the small building near the top of the entrance road. Sites are ample sized and fairly level. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. The campground was very quiet and peaceful. Modern restrooms with showers are located at the registration building. The laundry facility is also located at the registration building. There is a old 1/2 mile hiking path behind the old pit toilets and tent campsites. It is not maintained, but still provides a nice little hike if you are willing to search for the trail markers and cross the creek twice. The only negative to the site is the location of the restrooms and the limited hours. The only restrooms are at the top of the hill near the entrance which makes for a bit of a walk. Additionally, the facilities are only open from 8 am to 10 pm, so no availability throughout the night.
Quietest and cleanest campground ever! We had such a great stay at Camp Hale. We decided to extend our stay and had to move sites, but both spots were equally beautiful. Lots of space. Hookups worked beautifully. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn’t stay in a cabin, but they looked really nice from the outside. I utilized the laundry facility and the bathrooms. Both were clean and well equipped. I included photos from both sites.
Stayed at one of the cabins. Wonderful staff and well kept facilities. Zero complaints on anything related to Camp Hale. I will definitely book again in the future for our next vacation to the area.
Beautiful campground with an awesome camp host!!! 5 stars, however I have to mention that all amenities were not available. Because the camp recently opened the laundry facility was not available. We came on post at the Fort Carson Laundrette where each load to wash was $4.50. Hopefully Camp Hale’s laundry room will open soon. Our stay was for 1 week. All sites are pull through with tons of space. Great view of Cheyenne Mountain. We use Starlink for internet and most of the sites give an unobstructed view of the sky. When we first arrived unbeknownst to us there was water maintenance and we were without water for most of the day, then when the water restored there was so much sediment our filter clogged and we barely had any water pressure. After replacing the filter we were good to go.
I am brand new to RV life, and am so happy to have found Camp Hale as one of my first real experiences! My spouse and I have been really satisfied with everything the campground has to offer. Looking forward to future upgrades! The staff are so friendly and helpful. I am thrilled to have met them.
Me and my Partner are here now, we were the first ones to camp here when it first opened!!! The host of this amazing ground is one of the most kind-hearted understanding people ever!!! Do you want folks that treat you like families? This is the place for you, quiet [Very Quiet], clean, everyone keeps to themselves. "May your campground be blessed and have many more AWESOME customers in the near future. 🙏 Thank you for being good to us. ❤️
The facility itself is an extremely beautiful park. Had an issue with a washing machine and reported it to a staff member that walked in the laundry room. I asked her if she worked here. The woman got very indignant and condescending and stated ,"I'm the manager" I stated to her, you're washing machine is not working. She walked away not saying another word. My husband called a phone number from somebody who called his phone from the park to extend our stay. The manager. Answered and was very condescending and indignant to my husband when he was just calling to extend our stay. Other than her poor behavior and lack of customer service we've been having the time of our life here.
