Boone Park

My boys like it here. The playground area has had a makeover and, at least esthetically, it's nice. However, the seesaw is a bit dangerous. Several kids feel off of it during our 1hr visit. It doesn't really teeter-totter like one expects a seesaw to do. Instead, if one of the participants were to dismount, the other would plummet to the ground! Other than that, Boone Park is a decent park. There is usually at least a dozen kids whenever we visit, so the kids get to play with other kids easily!

This is a lovely quaint park that's clean and has plenty of trees to provide shade. I love going on walks here because it's shaded in the hot summers and there are plenty of different paths to walk if you want to avoid walking by other patrons for whatever reason. Most dog walkers are good at picking up after their dogs and there are a few trash cans about that he'll keep the park clean. There is a play area in the front for children that is constantly bustling, plenty of benches scattered about for get togethers, reading, or bird watching.

Quite a few tennis courts, several pickle ball courts, two tennis walls to play by yourself or with a friend. Dogs allowed, picnic tables, grills, playground, wooded paths, restrooms. Open Monday thru Sunday 7am-7pm. It's nice and peaceful. The earlier you get there the better to play tennis/pickle ball. Was my first time there and loved it! Definitely going there to play tennis 2-3 days a week!

It’s a nice park with dramatic trees and benches. It’s a good place to picnic. On the negative side, it has an off leash dog problem. I live in the area and at least once a week I’ll see someone with an off leash dog. Sometimes the dogs will be on the larger size, as a few times I’ve seen pitbulls and bull-type dogs roaming free. If you’re walking a dog around there, be mindful. Some people treat it like an open pasture or rural nature trail when it’s a city park with clear leash law signs.

We went to this playground with our children and grandchildren. I believe there are 2 sections to this park. I've only been to this one area. I believe most of the facilities are on the other side of the park, so can't comment on those. We loved our time here.

I recently visited the newly renovated Boone Park playground in the Avondale area and had a fantastic experience. Just moved into the area and drove by this park. Quiet. No one was here at the time. The park has a trail park, tennis courts, and a bathroom house. Dog friendly, lots of picnic tables, grills, and cabanas. Great for having get together or kids birthday parties.
