Stockton Flats Yellow Post Sites

Open all the way to the closed gate for the back road to Baldy. 4wd recommended.

I have camped on this spot a few times now and love the seclusion from people. Every now and then offroaders will come by, but other then that, it's just you and nature. Perfect off the grid spot, but the bugs area highly annoying.

Off grid camping, which means its quiet. People still leave trash and shells everywhere which is annoying but I go up about once a month and camp overnight and clean up sites. Rangers are awesome up there and very friendly.

Roads a little rough from normal condition lot of 2 wheel drive showed up later on afternoon made it tough to get in and out a lot of snow play

The sites are wide and can fit at least 4 trucks on each site. There are a lot of trails to ride and no need for much 4x4 but it would be needed when snow comes down just in case. The trails to get to the sites are easy to drive and you are not hanging off an edge of a road like you would be going up a mountain. Just a heads up it's cold there during the summer around 65-70 degrees where it would be around 90-95 degrees in Fontana the nearest city or San Bernardino.

Killer off the grid spot!! Got there in my 2x4 sequoia but had to take a different route.... 3N06 is too rough for just two wheels. Take 3N01 (graded) to 3N33 and drop down that way. You taste a sliver of 3N06 right into Stockton flats camp yellow posts. Couple spots I couldn’t get to, 3-4 that were easy. Hung my hammock and enjoyed the solitude. Good Jump off spot for exploration... PCT isn’t far, goblets knob, Baldy, ... I took my mountain bike and clocked some miles checking it all out. Mostly rough fire roads all over. Cons- Bugs all over though. I got eaten alive despite cigar smoke bug spray and a candle. Also there’s so much broke glass. Pack out your stuff people! This is amazing off grid camping just outside LA and you’d never know it’s there! So beautiful. Let’s keep it that way 😉
