The river and the beach are very nice. A cold swim after mountain biking felt great. The sites are very close together. Bring fire wood or buy it at the grocery store. Twice the wood for the same price. It was very quiet at night. I will probably stay in the national forest next time. Bathroom was clean.

The campground staff were very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make it a great stay. One day we needed change for the showers before the camp store was open but the manager let us in to get us taken care of and was happy to help. Showers and bathrooms were in good order and clean, and when a bathroom was clogged, the managers were quick to resolve it. The sites were clean and spacious and fellow campers were friendly. Our 2 and 5 year olds loved biking up and down our road, which was off the main camp loops. We all thought the Mother Clucking Chicken Chucking competition was an absolute riot and set the campground apart as a very memorable experience for us! Would absolutely recommend for families and couples for a low key vibe and great location.

Sometimes the best things are the things that aren’t planned. I originally was going to drive a few more hours because I was headed to Boston, but I was tired and ready to be done driving. So I called this campground and they had a spot open! The people were so friendly and welcoming. I got a spot right next to the footpath that leads to the beach and it was beautiful. There are bathroom trailers and they were surprisingly very nice and very clean. There’s also a gate at the entrance that requires a code which made me feel super safe. And side note (because I always wonder this)- I had cell service. It was a great stay!

I first started coming to the beach camping area in the late 1970s as a seven or eight year-old child. My family had purchased a pop-up camper and the beach camping area became a yearly activity usually late July. We would always spend at least one week sometimes two. This year was a bit of a nostalgia trip for me, and it was nice to see that the beach camping area had not changed in a long time still had the same fuel that it did when I was a kid. The hosts are terrific The campground is clean, quiet and friendly. Prices for ice and firewood were reasonable and they’re always seem to be Different activities going on for those I wanted to take advantage. I am hoping to make this again an annual trip It would be nice to share the experience with my adult children

We wanted a clean, peaceful and fun place for our first camping trip as a family (our son is 18 months old so we did not want to go to a loud area) and this was definitely a great choice! The price was perfect, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the beach was so clean! There’s a new playground structure and all kinds of stuff for kids to do, and appreciated how strictly the speed limit was enforced so children could play/walk/ride bikes safely around the playground. We stayed for 5 days and were sad to leave, and plan on definitely coming back next year!

This is a fairly nice campground and we had a decent campsite, but just keep in mind, it's a campground, not a luxury RV resort. Having full hookups is definitely a plus. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed the beach and river; more stones than sand so I was glad I brought water shoes. Showers worked well, but I thought it was a little much to have to pay to use them ($1.00 for 5 minutes). No overly expensive, but I would think it would be included in your camping fee. Signs all over the campground indicate quiet hours start at 10:00 pm and are strictly enforced. We had a very loud group next to us that were up sitting around the campfire until 12:30 am or so. So, not too sure how strictly enforced they are. We did go up to the office to report it the next morning. The lady said we needed to call the emergency night time number. I guess we didn't think to walk up to the office and read the sign in the window at 12:00 at night. We ended up having some vehicle problems and had to stay two extra nights and the staff were very helpful in moving us to a different campsite. Overall, we were satisfied with the campground and our stay there.

We stayed in one of the brand new two bedroom log cabins here last week, we had an amazing, relaxing experience. We enjoyed having campfires, grilling, and having heat, AC and a full bathroom in our cabin. Will definitely book next year.
