First Time Campers Program was a success! Staff was great and very helpful. Our tents were set up, for pit was stock with wood, it was PERFECT! I highly recommend this park, its secluded enough to feel like your getting away for the weekend. But it's close enough that you can run to the store, in case you forgot something.
Guajome is one of my favorite parks. Small number of sites with plenty of space. Full hookups, great price, clean and well patrolled with park Rangers. Very friendly staff and a beautiful property with the lake and birds. Playground for the kids, miles of trails.
We love this park! Super clean, beautiful lake with mature trees and lots of soft grass. Plenty of picnic tables and room to spend the day. Close to home but feels so far away.
Beautiful small campground. Clean facilities. Lovely views.
Beautiful park well maintained and wonderfully landscaped. Clean restrooms with showers at the campground. 30+ camp sites with full hookups.(30 & 50 amp) Cool little lake with ducks, geese, and a crazy amount of seasonal birds stopping in for a visit. I have seen Canadian geese, white pelicans, cranes and egrets, and others swimming around the lake, or resting up on shore. Lots of hiking and bike trails, nothing challenging but trails are long and encircle the entire park. Also a great day use area with BBQs and a nice playground.
Really enjoy this park and staying at the campground. Only downside is that most campsites are booked on random days and the rvs play musical chairs so they can stay for weeks. I met several great people and dogs here, and love the trails and landscape. It's a little pocket of wilderness and a peaceful place. The staff are super friendly and attentive as well.
Nice park to bring your horse to trail ride. There are a few different trials you can take. There is a large loop around the lake and a smaller loop around a smaller lake. If your ride the entire park can take about two hours. During late spring the flowers are really beautiful and in bloom. The paths are fairly wide and well marked. Best time to go is during the week to avoid more of the foot traffic and bicycles. Most people are pretty polite to horse traffic and try to stay out of your way. If you are on a bike and coming up from behind on horses, please call out and pass on left. I do wish however there was less large gravel in some areas. Some horses are sensitive to gravel. Horse trailer parking is pretty easy in the main parking lot area or off Guajome Lake road and in dirt.
