OAKKNOLL RV & CAMPGROUND

We had the most peaceful stay at Oak Knoll. It’s a quiet campground nestled amongst old oak trees. There are a lot of different birds during the day and a symphony of crickets to lull you to sleep at night. My husband, toddler and I had a wonderful time just hanging at camp and taking strolls around the grounds. There are also a few local camp cats that greeted us each morning. The manager Jennifer and Mike were very helpful when we needed some assistance hooking our camper van up to the sewer. They came over right away and Mike had a tool that got the job done. So grateful for them and for a wonderful vacation at Oak Knoll.

this slum has renamed itself to Basecamp once called oak knoll campground.The office was closed .The store was closed. The recroom was a disgrace. The place looks like a scrapyard, nothing is kept up, the place is full of junk, a u haul trailer,odd stacks of garbage ,metal , and if the truth be known it is riddled with illegal sustances. I took my partner there who is on chemo.We left within ten minutes.STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY. DO NOT BELIEVE ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS.WE SAW A WOMAN WITH SHOPPING CART FILLED WITH JUNK AIMLESSLY WANDERING.We were directed to the run down double wide mobile home to find the manager by someone who said please don't say I sent you as he did not want trouble. Check in was at 3.00 like most nhotels etc we arrived at 3.37. I called managers phone when we got back to civilization an hour later and she said I'll be right there....we had already gone home. The glamping tent they advertised as a four star accomodation, was filthy on the outside, filled with dirty furniture . There was sleeping arrangements for 4 people but only one pillow. ||STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISGRACE

Loved the property. Sites do need some leveling. We were welcomed by Jennifer, a very warm welcome. She showed us around the grounds and all acommodations that are available. Thank you Jennifer for your kindness.

We stayed a few relaxing nights last week and had a really nice time. We had originally booked the tiny micro cabin and once we got there realized it might be a bit to small for us. The manager Jennifer went out of her way to find us a different tiny home and we couldn't have been happier. She really took the time to not only make sure we were comfortable,but did it in a really genuine way. We definitely owe it to her for our relaxation.This place does have full time residents and could probably use a little tlc here and there, but was very peaceful. Great stargazing, tons of bird,and not far to the observatory and parks. Has a little game room as well. Mike the maintenance man also was really helpful and on the job! So glad we could finally make it up there and experience the area.

Base Camp at Palomar exceeded our expectations in every way! The owner Jennifer went above and beyond to make sure my daughter and I felt welcome and supported during a challenging time for us. She even arranged for her to have playmates at the neighboring site, which allowed me some me time. The air streamer rv we stayed in was quaint, cozy and clean. The amenities were top-notch - from the movie nights under the stars with the projector to the swimming pool. The whole experience was a rejuvenating one our souls very much needed. Highly recommend this little paradise get away.

This place is a nice place the manager there is a wonderful person she is very sweet and kind and will stop whatever she is doing to help u or get what u need to get done

Our photo/film crew recently shot on S Grade Rd and was able to use this RV park as a basecamp. Troy and his team were super responsive and very easy to work with. Def would come back here and would recommend doing business with them--probably even camp here on personal time! Their dirt parking lot was spacious enough to accomodate our small crew of 15 people + a 30 ft motorhome. There's a pavilion and bathrooms they offered for us to use (didn't even need a motorhome except for our editor to use as an office). It's also private property so does not need to be included on film/photo permits. But make sure to have some prod insurance to ensure everyone is taken care of just in case! Thanks Troy + team!
