This is probably one of the most scenic campgrounds I've ever visited. Even though it was pouring rain, it was still well worth it. It's worth noting that noise carries on water, and some people are really, unnecessarily loud. A guy maybe 20 sites from us was yelling at his poor dogs (Pepper and Ruby, in case you wanted to know) and I think the whole campground felt for those poor dogs. The site hosts the first night, Jason and his wife, were very nice and welcoming. They mentioned the second and third days would be different site hosts, and wow, what a difference. We'd wave, they would look away. We'd say "Good morning!" and smile and they'd fly without acknowledgement by on their (very smelly and loud) utility cart. The last day they even stopped by our site to change our the reservation card and were ten feet from us while we were making breakfast and never responded to our greetings. I just don't get why someone would take such a position with that mentality.
Good camp spots, We have a 24 ft Lazy Days Motorhome that had no trouble. (Other than a bit of heavy leveling) Awesome hosts who keep the place well maintained (the pit toilets are the cleanest I've ever encountered). The hiking trails are well maintained, the lake is beautiful and clear, (Just be sure to get your kayak to the shoreline before the early afternoon winds pick up, or you will exert more energy digging deep to get back to land working against the wind and choppy water 😉) The view of Mt Hood was gorgeous! AND do not miss.... The stars shining SO freaking bright over the lake on a clear night!! Just sayin...I had a peaceful easy feeling 😊
This is one of the cleanest, most well maintained campgrounds I have ever been to. The bathrooms were clean and fresh and well stocked too. The views were stunning. Camp hosts were on the ball and courteous. Love it here.
Just returned from a three day trip. We had a wonderful time on our first trip to Timothy Lake. There was a lot to do between swimming, hiking, mountain biking and relaxing by the water. There are lots of camping options around the lake. There is even a trail that circles the lake...about 13 miles.
Beautiful views of Mt. Hood. Very clean campground and a friendly host. Has fire pits with grill covers and great campsites on the like side. This was the perfect place for a kid friendly car camping trip.
Site 027: Definitely my favorite campsite, our group was spread over three sites (024, 026, 027). While 024 was peaceful, there is only a thin line of trees and foliage separating you from three other sites (every side except the 'drive way'). On 027 you have only two neighbors, often divided by parked vehicles and RVs. 027 runs right up again the water and is a very large campsite (all site pictures and video are from 027). The facilities are vault toilets but they were very clean and are stocked with Purell as well as TP. The facilities did run out of Purell but it was restocked in less than 24 hours. The gray water disposal is an awesome addition, there are also dumpsters for disposing of trash. The drinking water is delicious, I recommend bringing a gallon water jug and refilling it at the water station daily.
Great views of the lake and Mt. Hood. Large campground with spacious sites. Clean bathrooms, great hosts. Perfect for families. My only dislike is all the dusty dirt. Just can't avoid it.
