The Copper Whale Inn is the perfect home away from home in Anchorage. The location is ideal, you can walk to everything downtown. They provide breakfast with lots of different options, way more choices than a typical hotel breakfast. You can also sit and enjoy the "living room" anytime throughout the day. Luggage storage which is so handy if you arrive early or are in Anchorage for the day before going to the airport. If you're looking for authentic Alaskan hospitality you will find it here. Each room is unique and has everything you need.

Stayed with family at the copper whale inn and had a great time. We stayed in 3 different rooms all of which had themes. I personally stayed in "speakeasy" and it was fabulous. Right as you get there you get a little history lesson as well as info on places to go and things to see, all of it was useful. I admire the passion of the employees that make sure everyone knows they are welcome. The location is right by the water and a few blocks from a number of bars and restaurants. The breakfast was also wonderful with a lot of fresh fruit and options. They also do a great job making sure there are options for everyone including gluten free breads. I was only able to stay for one night but would have loved to stay longer. Our flight did not leave until after check out so we were able to store our luggage throughout the day. The only con is that it is on a somewhat busy street so you might get some noise if that is an issue for anyone who needs silence to sleep. Would absolutely recommend this place, so glad I didn’t stay at a big box hotel!

Location is great no issues at all. The rooms were small and noisy because of the location. The breakfast was adequate but really nothing special. The person who was working in the kitchen, Star frequently coughed on the small breakfast nook and food without covering their mouth. When I mentioned this there response was fine I will throw the food away it's almost done anyway.||When we asked Star for extra towels she got them but made us feel like we were an inconvenience to them.||The staff were pleasant helpful.||We will not stay here again.

The most outstanding and friendliest staff! Rooms were comfortable and location was perfect. Highly recommend Cult Classic Croissants right next door for a mid-morning pick me up.

My favorite place to stay in Anchorage. A quirky little inn with so much heart and personality. Close to all the good stuff. The staff, (Lorene in particular) make it feel like family.

Convenient and close to train station. Cute property sandwiched among commercial properties in downtown Anchorage. Some things to consider-rooms are spread between two buildings. Depending on your room assignment, you may be ask to walk steps upstairs or downstairs with your luggage. Ask for a main floor, main building room if mobility is an issue. Depending on room placement, you may hear a lot of street noise. Ask for a quiet room if that could be a distraction. Loved the central dining/meeting area and chatting with other guests. This place has a B & B feel. The GM was very good to make advance contact with our party and provide check-in directions. My only complaint were the pillows. Mine were very plump and full. As a side-sleeper I found them difficult, but made due using couch pillows. Suggest maybe a couple softer, loser pillows as an option in the rooms.
