This is my favorite Residence Inn that I've stayed at, which are usually always good quality. The rooms are nice and have nice art featuring local places. The location is central and walkable to everything downtown. And this is the first Residence inn with a bar/bistro that I've ever seen. The bar staff are very friendly, and the happy hour prices are great. The gym is pretty decent for a hotel gym as well.
The check in was smooth after the couple before us resolved their problem! They tried checking into the hotel without a reservation and took a long time! Kudos to the front desk guy who kept his cool the whole time. People kept coming in to check in and the line got kind of long. The room was nice and spacious! The breakfast was good, didn't care for the quiche, would of rather had regular scrambled eggs. But the pork sausage was good and nice to see it wasn't turkey sausage! The oatmeal was good too. The asian breakfast lady was extremely nice and pleasant, that's a good employee you have there! After breakfast, we went to the front desk to extend our checkout, the girl who helped us was very nice. The lobby of the hotel was decorated very nicely and just had a welcoming feeling. Overall, this hotel is exceptional and would definitely stay there again!
The rooftop patio is fantastic, the rooms are nice. But the real value proposition is the people here. Every single person I encountered made this such a wonderful experience. The hotel manager (sorry I don't have your name!!) was fantastic and cared about my experience. The bar/food manager Ashlly was also so accommodating and kind and it is clear that she truly cares about the experience her customers have. The bartenders were incredible, they served our large group with efficiency. And I feel like the service of these folks (and more - even the janitorial staff was so kind and considerate) made the cost worthwhile. Every person here deserves a raise! It is apparent that they truly care.
We were in town to visit BSU. The front desk team was extremely welcoming and genuinely helpful in giving us recommendations for restaurants and fun things to do. Even when we’d pass a staff member in the hall or elevator, everyone was friendly and helpful! Great recommendation to George’s Cycling and the Greenbelt trail. They even helped us out with a late checkout. The rooms are generous in size and tastefully decorated. Oh and the beds are very comfortable. The roof top deck had live music the night we were there and it was a nice place to end the day. Breakfast was pretty much the standard hot breakfast options you get at a hotel, it was convenient and had a nice dining area. Great stay and we’d be happy to stay here again next time we are in Boise, the location served us perfectly, the weather was gorgeous and we decided to walk or bike everywhere rather than get a car and that was easy and fun to to do from this hotel!
Reade at the front desk is phenomenal. My flight was delayed and I ended up arriving a day late, and he could not have been more friendly or accommodating. He also helped me secure a late checkout, which I really appreciated since I’m only Gold status. Little things like that make a huge difference when you travel for work as much as I do. This is my second time coming to Boise for work this year, and employees like Reade are exactly why I choose to stay at this Residence Inn. He deserves all the recognition for the exceptional service he provides. Highly recommend staying here.
Hospitality of everyone employed thre is top-notch! Highly recommend! Easy to access hotel, parking was easy, close to amenities (grocery, Chipotle, Panda Expess right across the street). The pool, workout area, and Deck Grill/bar was wonderful. Rooms clean and spacious. Loved having a kitchen in my room! Meeting facilities and catering was excellent. And... again, cannot reiterate enough how amazing the staff is!!!
As a long-time Marriott Ambassador Elite member who frequently stays at Residence Inn properties, I was utterly shocked and disappointed by my experience at the Residence Inn Boise Downtown City Center on January 7, 2026. What should have been a straightforward business trip turned into a nightmare due to a reservation error that the hotel staff and management completely failed to handle with even a shred of professionalism or empathy.||To set the scene: I had arranged two rooms through the Marriott Ambassador Line for myself and my business partner. Upon arrival after a grueling day of travel, we discovered only one room had been booked. While the initial mix-up wasn’t directly the hotel’s fault, the front desk’s response was nothing short of abysmal. The two gentlemen on duty were either woefully undertrained or just plain inept – they offered zero assistance. I suggested simple solutions like checking for any last-minute availability at their property, arranging transportation to a nearby Marriott (there were options in the area, though not ideal), or at least helping us explore alternatives. Instead, they shrugged it off, essentially telling us it was our problem to fix by calling the Ambassador Line ourselves or finding our own accommodations. No initiative, no empathy, no customer service whatsoever. We ended up booking a room at a non-Marriott hotel nearby on our own, which was inconvenient, stressful, and completely disrupted our plans.||Hoping to give them a chance to make it right, I emailed the General Manager, Gwen Lytle, detailing the incident and requesting some form of resolution – perhaps compensation like points, a future stay credit, or even just acknowledgment of the need for better staff training. Her responses were dismissive and blame-shifting, claiming the reservations were made online (not true – they were coordinated through my Ambassador concierge) and implying the issue was with how we booked, not their team’s failure to help. She apologized for the "stress" but offered no concrete steps to fix it, and when I pushed back with facts, she basically said we couldn’t agree and to escalate to Marriott corporate. It felt like a total brush-off, adding insult to injury for a loyal elite member.||This isn’t just a one-off glitch; it highlights a deeper problem with customer service at this property. As someone who values reliability in hotels, especially for business travel, this experience has completely shattered my trust in Residence Inn Boise Downtown. I won’t be returning, and I strongly advise others – especially fellow Marriott loyalists – to steer clear unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere!
