First, I received the scheduled massage with my wife. It was very cool because it gave me strength and softened my tight muscles. There was a lot of hot and cool water baths, and the steam shower was particularly good. I've been to several places, but the shower area is clean and there was no good water like this one. It is a great place to relax in a quiet atmosphere. 👈Strong Recommendations 👌
I had an incredible experience this morning at Refuge. The entire space was immaculately clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. From the moment I walked in, the calming atmosphere and subtle, refreshing scents made it easy to fully relax. The eucalyptus steam room was my absolute favorite — deeply soothing and restorative. I even found the courage to step into the cold pool afterward, and I can honestly say I walked out feeling glowing, rejuvenated, and so proud of myself. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. It truly felt like a sanctuary. I’m already looking forward to returning as soon as I can.
I had the best massage ever today. Elizabeth was nice and very skilled. My husband had Melanie she was also very skilled. We were both wishing we had booked 100 minute massages. It has been several years since we had visited the spa it is still as wonderful as I remember. I can’t wait to come back again.
TERRIBLE SERVICE! JUST TERRIBLE! WE've been trying for two months to get a reservation for the weekend of March 7-8 and we're having a terrible time. We tried their site (and tried calling--that was a dead end) since we made our hotel reserv in early January--nothing worked, for TWO MONTHS. Then we emailed them and they said to wait 4-6 weeks b/c they didn't have March open yet. So, now we're mid-Feb, my husband went on to sign us up for day passes, and it would only let him sign up for himself--and then when I go on I can't get the same time! JUST LAME AND UNKIND AND WRONG. And of course, they don't answe the phone--big surprise! My Dad was a truly successful businessman, and he used to say, "Never act like you're so cool with your services that you can't be reached or can't be accessed. Always be accessible to your customers." So, we gave up. It's not a friendly business vibe, and it sends people in the wrong direction--away from them! JUST STAY AWAY. Anyone who thinks they're so utterly cool that they don't let their customers sign up with ease doesn't deserve the business.
The massage was AMAZING! My back feels so much better. I am so very grateful to the kind woman that gave me a deep tissue massage, unfortunately I forgot her name 🙁 I can only remember the hospitality and the amazing work she did on my neck and back. She did have a beautiful shade of red hair but I'm sure moght be more than one person with that description. The sauna was nice, the steam room was very steamy. The cold pools felt like ice water, the cool pool was kinda the same. The warm and hot pools were relaxing too with little waterfalls making nice white noise. I just wish the hot pools were a little bit hotter. The whole experience was exceptional but the absolute highlight was the massage. Very much worth it!
Well we visited the Refuge on a chilly November evening while on vacation and loved it so much that we booked for the following evening too! Highly recommend going right before dusk and experiencing the magic as the sun sets and staying for awhile after dark! It was not crowded at all when we were there (weeknights) and there were lots of tennis courts being used VERY close by but I honestly could not even hear the people on the courts. There are waterfalls in each pool that do a good job of providing white noise. Would go back again and again if we lived nearby!
I have been to Refuge 3 times in the last few years and it is always a personally rewarding experience. The silence absolutely clears the mind, while the relaxation process refreshes the body. The amenities are clean and nice. Staff is welcoming, professional and accommodating. Super recommend everyone treat themselves to a mental health day here!
