I had such an incredible experience here. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt peaceful, clean, and welcoming. My deep tissue massage was exactly what my body needed — firm enough to work out all the tension but still relaxing. The hot stones were pure heaven and melted away stress I didn’t even realize I was holding. I left feeling lighter, looser, and completely refreshed. You can tell they truly care about their clients’ comfort and healing. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone needing real relaxation and relief.

I ordered the Groupon and when I arrived I added 30 dollars extra for the foot bath and facial! I’m not sure where the disconnect came from but I don’t feel like I got a massage. I never received the facial, and foot bath was a Luke warm bucket of water w fruit and splashing everywhere! The massage was more of a rub and chopping. Not at all what a regular massage is! I asked for a firm massage and I didn’t receive it at all. Everything moved so fast! Not relaxing at all. The worse part was in the end how the individual who gave the massage flat out asked for a tip! Not professional at all. I will not be back.

Been here 3 times. Professional, nice masseuses. I like the deep tissue massages, the hot stones, and the warm pillow they put under your neck. 2 small improvements: More pressure (or harder) on the deep tissue massage and keep the heating pad on for customers because it’s cold laying on the bed.

Me and my husband have been coming here for years. And they recently opened their second location for an upscale spa experience. It was so lovely 🥰 we absolutely loved it! Hate to see people leaving reviews on here because they didn’t wanna pay for the upgrade but demand the best service…

My partner and I scheduled a couples massage. When making the appointment, I informed them we had a groupon to redeem and they said it was fine. Two days before the appointment, they called and asked us to change our time by 3 hours. This was not ideal for us, though we adjusted our schedule and accommodated their request. When we arrived, they refused the Groupon, because there were other people willing to pay full price for the same time slot. This alone indicated dishonest practice of not honoring the deal they agreed to. We said no thank you and left. 5 minutes later they called us back and offered to accept the Groupon.. they said they could not offer it at the time, because everybody else in the waiting room *also* booked with a Groupon, which they rejected and instead took their cash. We learned that some people in the waiting room paid full price, some paid cash equivalent of the Groupon, and some were offered to accept the Groupon. In the end, this was extremely sketchy, and discriminatory. Everybody there booked under the agreement of using a Groupon. The shop offered different people different deals right there in the lobby. This is not an honest business, and we refuse to support it even with a Groupon.

We booked a couples massage and it was honestly a frustrating experience from start to finish. At reception, we were pitched a Valentine’s "promotion" for $30 more per person. We were told it would include a foot massage and a facial in addition to the deep tissue massage. None of that happened. What we received was basically a regular deep tissue massage, and when I asked about the foot massage/facial afterward, the receptionist said it was because of "lack of time." That’s not acceptable—don’t sell an upgrade and then not deliver it. To make things worse, the tip pressure was extremely aggressive. We were directly asked to tip (cash or credit), and it felt pushy and uncomfortable. When I said $25, she immediately asked, "For both of you or each?"—as if the amount I already offered wasn’t enough. The whole interaction was rude and awkward. The massage tables were also uncomfortable, so I never felt relaxed. The pillow was a plain pillow with no cover, and they put a paper towel over it. That’s not hygienic or professional. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and taken advantage of. If you respect yourself, don’t go to this place.

My girlfriend and I were in Chicago for Presidents day weekend and stumbled upon Pure Serenity Spa via a promo on Groupon. Given that our booking was last minute we were sure to ask whether Groupon would be valid for our booking and were told we could come in. Upon arrival we were told the exact opposite and that we would have to pay full price (roughly 200 USD) for a couples massage due to the holiday weekend and because they were fully booked (not sure what this has to do with redeeming the Groupon tbh) for the day. Considering the commute and time expended to arrive we ended up booking the full priced 60 min massage. What made the moment even more comedic was that a couple came in not too long after and was getting on their case about the same discrepancy of Groupon voucher redemptions. The massage itself was beyond mediocre. There were no advanced masseuse techniques used (i.e. myofascial release, counterstrain technique, etc.), at times it felt like lotion was simply being rubbed on my body and barely any pressure was being applied. It begs the question of what is the reason for the premium I'm paying ? The location? The cheap incense? The color coded uniforms ? I was heavily disappointed and had seriously questioning if I could've done a better job at giving my girlfriend a massage from the comfort of our hotel. Lastly, if you take nothing from what I've said please take heed in all the reviews commenting on the aggressive requests for a tip. If anyone has seen the fight scene from Rush Hour 2 where Inspector Lee and Carter have to fight there way out of the spa, I was convinced that I would've had to do the same if I didn't leave a tip. TLDR: Lack of transparency. Mediocre Spa techniques. Agressive tipping practices.
