Meixing Spa & Massage

Definitely one of my favorite massage spots. The staff is always pleasant. I had a guy massage me once a while back short bald head very quiet. He did such an amazing job. I wish I would’ve asked what his name was so I could request him. I’m never unhappy with the staff so I don’t make specific request, but they always make me feel comfortable and welcomed. I really want to check out their saunas. I didn’t even know they had one until they did my massage in the back room and I had to walk past it. I’m very intrigued now.

I came here today for a deep tissue massage, and it was exactly what I needed. This place is very no-frills—you’re in and out without any of the extras you might find at other massage spots around Eugene. The massage itself was incredibly deep, which was perfect for what I was looking for, and they even included hot stones at no extra cost. The prices are excellent, and overall it’s a straightforward, effective, and affordable experience. If you’re looking for results more than a fancy spa experience this place is excellent.

This was quite a different experience than other massages I've had in the area. Communication was low - they didn't take any info when I called to make the appointment, and there was no talking before the massage. But, the massage was great. My body feels a lot better than it did. The technique they used was more rapid and firm. I have done some research, and that is typical of Asian massages. Draping was good and I was appropriately covered the entire time. I'm thankful for the other reviewer who said they leave to get the hot stones- I would have been very confused otherwise. This was less expensive than other places but still a quality massage. I plan on going back.

Edit: The owner reached out to me and made everything right. Updated the review to five stars. Normally, Awe Spa is great but today I had an MT who isn’t my usual choice. I paid for a 90 minute massage and was short changed by at least 15 minutes. Usually, this wouldn’t be a big issue except this specific MT really only focused on my back for 80% of the massage. Every other time I’ve visited Awe Spa, or any other spa for that matter, 90 minutes has been more than enough for a full body massage. Quite disappointing as this place has always been great.

I'm from out of town, and I booked a couples massage for my husband and I, we got in within 30 minutes and they did an excellent deep tissue with hot stone massage, friendly and clean as well. 140 for the couple's massage plus tip, I will be coming back!

I have had a knot in my shoulder for a few days that's been really bothering me so I scheduled an appointment here. They were able to get me in the next day, which was my first availability, so it was really convenient. They were nice and professional, and my shoulder feels much better. I plan on returning regularly & would recommend this place to others.

My boyfriend and I got into Eugene as a stopping point after a long day of driving. I thought it would be great to treat ourselves to a couples massage. It was hands down the worst massage I have ever received. When we first arrived, there was zero communication about what kind of massage/focus areas/areas to avoid. Actually, there were hardly any words spoken to us at all. When the massage began, I thought the woman who was giving me my massage was just getting started by lightly moving her hands along my back. It turned out to be like this the entire time. She used virtually no pressure at all, and was skipping areas/not matching what she had done on one side. There were times where she would use very deep pressure- on my BONE. There was not one time where she actually got in a groove to reach the muscle (for example- she was painfully putting pressure on my scapula with her elbow rather than getting the space behind it). For my shoulders and neck, she did very slight and fast pinching motion; pressure was so light it felt like nothing at all. She would then massage random spots- used her elbow on my glute/hip and it hurt SO bad. Thank god she only did that on one side. I was literally grimacing in pain every time she tried to use pressure. I woke up this morning with a bruise and pain. I honestly couldn’t wait for the massage to be over, and was so sad that I had just wasted my money on a terrible experience. My boyfriend had a better experience with his masseuse, who was actually giving him the deep tissue massage we had expected. His main complaint was that during the massage, a customer walked in and his masseuse straight up left the room for like 3-5 minutes. Then proceeded to end our massage at slightly less than an hour. I’m not sure if it was her first time ever giving a massage or what, but she definitely needs some training. There should also be communication before the massage starts- it’s pretty much the bare minimum. Unfortunately for myself, I’m a shy person so I felt too nervous to express my concerns. This experience made me learn that if I’m paying for a service and it’s not at all what I’m looking for, I need to stand up for myself. I was so looking forward to this and it really put a damper on my night. I highly highly recommend spending a little more money to go somewhere reputable that has knowledgeable and caring staff.
