I might be saying the quiet part out loud here but uptown is not the best area. Lots of homeless people, etc. The main door is locked and that's no doubt intentional. Anyways, I had a great experience here. Got a nice sandwich from cheba hut across the street and wandered over for a drink. Asked the bartender for something sweet. He delivered. It was fruity and strong too. I am a lightweight so I left it at that one drink. Wandered downstairs to their public bathroom where I goofed off and took pictures of myself in the mirror because the lighting was nice. I would totally come back, glad I visited. ❤️

Style with no substance. Moxy might be "cool" but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. First the rooms are very small, with hardly anywhere to put a suitcase or two down. Difficult for two adults to get ready for a formal function. Open style shower so it's cold unless you crank the heat way up in the room. No coffee maker, no refrigerator, no iron (not that there would be a place to iron). Tiny desk barely big enough for a laptop, with a weird stool to sit on. No breakfast. Record player in the lobby doesn't work - just for looks I guess. Only paid parking is available (and expensive), very little loading area on the street outside the lobby. And all that for around the same nightly rate as many other hotels which offer more. It was clean at least, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Decent happy hour at the bar. In the end, I'm not sure who this hotel is meant for. Certainly not business travelers, and uncomfortable for couples.

I mean… you get what you pay for. Internet / TV is painfully slow. The beds are hard as a rock. There’s no furniture to speak of, no mini fridge. It’s clean and the bathroom is nice but save the "we’re a fun hotel" speech. I don’t care about a communal fridge or a crappy drink token. I want internet and a comfortable room. Save your hammock and get real. Skip this unless you’re a teenager.

We had a very brief day at the Moxy. Seemed like a fun place with lots of games in the lobby and a cleverly set up room that was quite comfortable. The staff sent us to a very good breakfast nearby at the Breakfast Club which we really enjoyed. Appreciated the suggestion!

I would strongly advise against staying here. Our five-day stay was a complete disaster from both a service and financial standpoint. The Room: The space is incredibly cramped. It is far too small for two people with luggage to move around comfortably. Zero Housekeeping: Despite staying for five days and calling the front desk multiple times to request service, our room was never cleaned. Housekeeping completely ignored us for the duration of our trip. Billing Nightmares: This is the most concerning part. Beyond the initial Airbnb payment, they charged us a "deposit" that was nearly 100% of the room price. After checking out, a third charge appeared for roughly 75% of the room cost. A week later, these unauthorized charges still haven’t been reversed. Abysmal Customer Service: When I called to resolve the billing issues, the staff was dismissive. They claimed they "couldn't hear me" despite a clear connection, then placed me on hold for nearly an hour before hanging up. Between the tiny rooms, lack of basic hygiene services, and the predatory billing practices, this was a nightmare experience. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

i truly don’t think i have the words to describe the delight that i feel about staying here. immediately greeted with a smile upon checkin, given tokens for free drinks, and our room was so cute and cozy. every single member of the staff is an absolute angel. happened upon a rave during our stay, and that was a blast too! my girlfriend and i have stayed in many, many hotels across our travels and this is our new favorite. worth visiting minneapolis again just to stay here. we love you moxy uptown!!!!

I have been coming to the Moxy Uptown for 9 months. I come weekly for business. I always arrive to a welcoming atmosphere, Maggie (Bar manager) and Thomas (Hotel Manager) are the key people to talk to. They ensure I quickly get to my room, they hold materials for me in advance of my arrival, safeguarding tens of thousands of dollars of electronics and base materials. They plug me into the local community events and happenings, which has made my stays more enjoyable across the board, I cant say enough nice things about this hotel and these two managers. I travel all the time, cities all over the world. The Moxy Uptown is the only place I will stay when I come to MSP.
