I thoroughly enjoy this facility and location. Outdoor workout center, pool, sauna/steam room, showers, multiple workout rooms, and they updated their equipment recently. Friendly staff. Lots of parking. Happy here. I do think they can add maybe some carpet or water resistant fabric since the steps to the locker rooms are sometimes wet due to swimmers leaving the pool. Could be hazardous. Otherwise, it’s a good spot especially if you like to play basketball. Haven’t tried their classes yet, but am looking forward to it.
Great amenities, but not able to enjoy them because there’s no locks on the lockers in the womens locker room, and its tucked away in the back corner of the facility. I was so appalled at the co-ed locker room situation. They have lockers that lock- but as a married woman, I will never be found in a man’s locker room. Very disappointing. I will not be back to this location.
Beautiful facility doing so much good in the community. Thank you Rebecca and Austin for showing us around. The outdoor training space, the kids play zones and the extras like the workshop and meeting space make this such a valuable part of the community.
I stopped by because I was thinking about joining, but now I'm looking into other options. The staff was very kind, but it kinda felt like pulling teeth to get any details. They did answer the questions I asked but they didn't really volunteer any membership information or information about the facilities. It seemed very odd that they did not volunteer an overview when I said I was thinking about joining and that they did not show me around or even talk about the facilities. Maybe this is normal for the YMCA, but any other gym I've been a member of made sure to make you feel welcome when you show up, especially if you aren't a member yet.
I’m a student at a near by university and I wanted to check this YMCA out to possibly get a membership for the next 4 years. I asked to lift for a couple of hours- I was turned away without given any solution to see the gym aside from buying a month long membership. Not offered a tour, a day pass, nothing. A 2 hour lift would have resulted in 4 years of membership fees. Bad business and poor service. I’m on my way to Centennial Sportsplex now- where they offer day passes, student discounts, and more accommodating employees. Happy to spend my money elsewhere.
Number one, the coed locker rooms, sauna, and steam room are not clean or hygienic. This location will not enforce the "no street shoes" policy in any of these areas. Super nasty. Number two, the front check in staff are super ageist and generally toxic. I overhear the front desk check in people shaming people for being "like 40 years old omfg they shouldn’t even be trying to talk to me" while laughing about it together with supervisors. I will avoid this location in the future.
Hate to say but the Y just always has to find ways to mess up good things. They’ve had two saunas and a steam room on the pool deck for a while now, after getting rid of separate gender saunas (ridiculous). Well, now they’ve gotten rid of the sauna for a 2nd steam room, which will hardly be used at all. Most enjoy dry heat over steam and the setup they had was perfect. Now the 1 sauna is packed like sardines just like Brentwood. Uncomfortable and not relaxing. Further, the community locker room is not sanitary, and not the fault of the custodians but the members. Also, they got rid of the unisex bathrooms and created new men’s restrooms on the other side of the wall and built them with no urninals and no automatic flushers, so the those new men’s restrooms are beyond disgusting. STOP RUINING GOOD THINGS!!! LEAVE THINGS ALONE!!!! YOU MESS UP WHEN YOU MAKE CHANGES!!!!!
