The hotel is visually beautiful, well located, and the concept overall feels premium. The staff is generally polite, and access to the Equinox gym is a nice bonus. That said, for a 5-star hotel, several things seriously downgraded my experience. First, upon check-in, there were visible stains on the bedsheets. This is simply unacceptable for a hotel of this level. Cleanliness should not be negotiable at this price point. Second, and even more disappointing, was the checkout experience today, January 27, around 12:00 PM. There were multiple staff members at the front desk, yet no assistance with luggage was offered at all. I was told to bring the bags downstairs myself directly, no one stepped in to help, no bell service, nothing. For context: when we checked in, my husband carried the bags. When checking out, I ended up carrying both my own luggage and my husband’s luggage. For a 5-star hotel, this is honestly shocking. Offering help with luggage is basic hospitality, not an extra favor. Overall, the hotel has potential and a beautiful concept, but service consistency and attention to detail are lacking, which makes it difficult to justify the 5-star status.

Our stay at the equinox was nothing short of beautiful from the views, the incredible gym but most important the amazing people that work there with so much care and warmth. Everything we needed even down to tooth paste was provided with haste. If they didn’t have they’d go out of their way to look for it. Any issues encountered were dealt with straight way. Wonderful wonderful hotel!

Between my business partners and I, we spent over a week at the Equinox Hotel and roughly 50000 on rooms alone. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. When I initially arrived, the room I booked was changed and my view was downgraded due to a reported scent issue in the original room. While I understood the adjustment at the time, it set the tone for a stay that continued to fall short. In my room, the shower nozzle fell off multiple times, to the point where one night I could not take a shower at all. The bathtub was also clogged with hair and had to be serviced by maintenance. These issues occurred more than once. What made this more frustrating is that my partner and I were traveling with a two month old baby, and my business partner was traveling with a three month old. Basic room functionality like a working shower is not a minor inconvenience in that situation. Despite the repeated issues and multiple service visits, there was never any offer to acknowledge the inconvenience or provide compensation. I am not someone who typically complains or writes reviews, but given the price point and brand reputation, this was disappointing. My business partners and I stay here several times a year, but after this experience, we will not be returning.

My wife and I have stayed at the Equinox Hotel several times and continue to love its design, comfort, and wellness-focused atmosphere. The rooms are immaculate, spacious by NYC standards, and beautifully minimalist — one of the most relaxing places to stay in Manhattan. That said, this visit showed a few slips in consistency. Service remains friendly (big shout-out to the front desk at check-in, who were phenomenal). Still, the attention to detail has softened: the Dyson hairdryer has been replaced by a standard model, shower pressure was poor, and in-room dining, though quick, arrived with spilled wine. Breakfast the next morning was clearly understaffed, and service delays affected nearly every table. The gym is still world-class, but beginning to show some wear, and the café area upstairs was closed and appliances were disconnected in the middle of the ktichen. Electric Lemon — the hotel bar — now closes around 10:30 PM, which is early by New York standards. Overall, the Equinox Hotel remains one of the city’s most stylish, comfortable, and well-located luxury properties. With a bit more focus on consistency and service polish, it could easily reclaim its five-star standing.

Visiting Equinox was a beautiful escape. The location was convenient, and I loved having easy access to the spa, which truly supported a relaxing stay.||More specifically, the spa representative, Corey Langston, made our spa experience unforgettable. He displayed kindness, professionalism, expertise, and genuine customer care. His efforts ensured our experience was exceptional.||We will definitely be booking at the spa again and working with Corey in the future. Thank you again for such a memorable experience.

Stayed here for two nights on a business trip. I usually stay at The Pendry but wanted to stay here again as I hadn’t visited in three years. Hotel is nice, staff are friendly. Breakfast is extortionate and was delivered cold to my room on both mornings. Refusal to accommodate a late checkout request is very poor especially at this price point. This is never an issue with The Pendry who are much more flexible so in future I will just stay there.

LOVE THE EQUINOX HOTEL! ||Highly recommend! Service was impeccable from the concierge to the front desk associates. I was in for business/personal and could not ask for a better experience. Property is immaculate and rooms spacious with top tier products. My concierge associate - Savannah was outstanding. Very professional and provided white-glove service. I am new to the city and she even helped in providing city expertise and insight into areas to live in. As this my first time staying at Equinox, she helped elevate the experience to a greater level.||Thank you Savannah and Equinox staff!
