Forest Haven Sauna

My visit was truly exceptional! The sauna experience itself was deeply rejuvenating — the atmosphere was calming, clean, and perfectly set up for relaxation. What made it even more special was Slava’s incredible mastering of the bath attendance. He guided the process with such skill and care that I was able to fully let go of tension and feel the benefits almost immediately. I came in with noticeable muscle discomfort, and by the end of the session, I felt light, refreshed, and restored. It was not just physical recovery, but also a mental reset. Slava’s professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness made the experience feel personal and transformative. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking true relaxation, muscle recovery, or simply a moment of peace and renewal. I’ll definitely be returning!

I recently visited Forest Haven Sauna and was absolutely impressed. From the very first moment, you can feel the cleanliness, order, and well-thought-out atmosphere everything is designed for true relaxation and a high-quality sauna experience. The steam room is excellent, with soft and even heat that feels comfortable and therapeutic. Special thanks to Slavik, the sauna master a true professional. His steam session was top-notch: great technique, perfect rhythm, and close attention to how you’re feeling throughout the process. You can really tell he knows and respects true sauna culture. After the steam, it was especially relaxing to unwind in the lounge area with a cup of aromatic herbal tea, which perfectly complements the sauna ritual and helps your body recover. I also want to highlight the friendly and attentive staff, the cozy interior, and the overall feeling of care for guests. This is a place I genuinely want to come back to. Beautifully situated with convenient parking and, best of all, none of the crowds you find in larger saunas - here, you enjoy the experience on your own terms. The herbal tea from the owner's garden was a delightful touch, and the outdoor cold shower is an absolute must to complete the experience. We'll definitely be back!

The sauna was lovely on the inside, both private and well organized. The owner was nice and met us outside to show us where to park. It would be helpful if information had been sent prior to arrival regarding everything that needed to be brought with us. Most wellness locations provide robes, towels, slippers, etc. in order to enjoy the location. However, Forest Haven does not have these items available readily. We had to request towels and were given very small ones that did not cover our bodies and were told the charge was $5 per towel for use (they did not end up charging us this). The transition from inside the sauna to the outdoor showers requires slippers/sandals and a large towel for privacy and cleanliness of your own body and the space. Having this information ahead of time would have made the experience more comfortable. That being said, the sauna itself was beautiful and the outdoor shower was lovely to cool off in. The experience was relaxing and overall private. The owner was also very kind. If 1/2 stars were an option, I would give 4.5 out of five. They only issue being clearer instructions prior to visit.

Booked an hour and a half session with my husband as a Valentine's Day gift to him. It was really lovely! Clean and well laid out, a wonderful private experience and such a cozy and calming atmosphere.

This was my first time doing a traditional Russian sauna. It was amazing!! The place was clean and I found the atmosphere to be homey and refreshing. Had great conversations and left feeling like I was cleansed and also made a new friend. I would recommend this to any one into this type of modality. I will absolutely be back, also the snacks and tea and cold shower was awesome! Thank you

We’ve been looking for a more traditional sauna in PDX and this place checks all the boxes! It’s conveniently located in the west hills. You get access to a private area that has a picnic table, outdoor shower, and 2 buildings: the sauna building with a warming room, and a small building you can use to change, that has a warm shower, portable toilet and a sink. The area is surrounded by trees and feels nice and secluded. The sauna is well built, it runs nice and hot! You can throw some water on the rocks and get it pretty steamy! The owner offers sauna birch whisks for purchase, that are fun to use. There are also aromatherapy oils and little woolen hats available. I think this is a great place for those who enjoy a private traditional sauna without too many bells and whistles. It’s a place to get warm during wet and cold winter months!
