California Sun Wellness Spa in Granite Bay is a true hidden gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a clean, relaxing, and welcoming atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. The staff goes above and beyond to make every visit a personalized experience—professional, friendly, and genuinely invested in your well-being. The services they offer are top-notch, whether you’re looking for relaxation, rejuvenation, or overall wellness. Every treatment feels thoughtfully designed and delivered with care. What I love most is how they combine professionalism with a down-to-earth vibe—you never feel rushed, and you always leave feeling better than when you walked in. It’s rare to find a place that blends luxury with true wellness so seamlessly, but California Sun & Wellness does exactly that. Highly recommend this spot for anyone in the Granite Bay area looking to recharge, refresh, and feel their best!

The people that work at this salon are phenomenal. They always have a smile on their face and help to the greatest ability. They all deserve a raise. They know me on a name basis and it make me come back year after year and will continue.

- I’m writing to share an experience that left me frustrated, disrespected, and seriously considering canceling my membership—which I’ve maintained for four years. I was placed in a tanning room I’ve specifically and repeatedly asked not to use. I clearly explained to the staff member—more than once—that I’m hard of hearing and cannot hear the instructions from that particular spray tan machine. The noise from the fan drowns everything out, and I get confused about which way to turn during the session. I told her directly, multiple times: I need the other machine. It’s the only one I can hear well enough to use properly. She dismissed my request, saying this was a "great room" (because it’s the one she uses) and that I’d be fine. She offered to turn the music down in the other room, which I clarified had nothing to do with the issue—it’s the fan and machine volume inside the booth. Despite all of this, she insisted I use it. Just as I warned, I couldn’t hear the prompts once the session began. I ended up being sprayed twice on the same side because I misinterpreted what the machine was saying. I told her again that this is why I didn’t want that room. She then pretended there had been a misunderstanding and claimed she thought this was the machine I had asked for. That wasn’t true. What actually happened is she didn’t want to clean the other booth because it was a half hour before close. Eventually, she had to clean it anyway—after I stood there naked and upset for 15 minutes while she fumbled with options. She finally moved me over so I could finish the session properly in the booth I originally requested. That’s what’s most upsetting here: I was honest, clear, and respectful about my needs. Instead of honoring that, she tried to manipulate the situation to suit her convenience, then blamed me for not being clear enough. I know exactly what I said. And to try to gaslight someone—especially someone requesting an accommodation due to a disability—is unacceptable. Afterward, she said she’d "put a note in my chart" that I prefer that machine. I told her I’d rather cancel. She smiled and said "Okay." No apology. No accountability. Her colleague then told me I’d need to cancel online. I’m still having a hard time with it internally. I’ve never had a bad experience at this salon before. I’ve never blamed anyone for past machine issues—I’ve always rolled with it. But this wasn’t about the machine. This was about being disrespected, manipulated, and denied a basic accessibility request. Please use this message as a record of what happened, and as a call to ensure your team understands how to respond when a member communicates a sensory need or hearing-related limitation. This could’ve been handled with a little empathy and honesty. Instead, I was left feeling invisible, insulted, and ultimately betrayed by a business I used to love.

The corporate office is the WORST to work with. They charged me double AGAIN this month. The ladies that work at the location are wonderful— just wish the "internal business" reflected good customer service too!

Not thrilled by the lack of Customer Service this evening… twice! No one for a minute when I arrived. When one of the girls finally appeared she had no manners and just asked what I wanted I wanted to do today with zero eye contact. Felt like I was bugging her by showing up. Then when I came out of my first treatment room before my next one, same thing. In fact, when the girl finally came out after changing in the bathroom into shorts she just said "hold on" and went into the employee room, closed the door and I waited for another minute. When she finally came out she had her belongings and just went to the computer and started chatting with the other employee who came out and told her what she needed to do before closing as I stood there waiting for her to get the next treatment ready. Then she didn’t even look at me and told the other girl to walk me back to the room.
