Olive Spa And Retreat
📍 Gay-friendly spas in St Paul
Accessibility offers a massage experience within a small, discreet setting, nestled within a hair salon. The deep tissue massage is the highlight, though some may find the pressure and duration slightly underwhelming. The atmosphere is simple, with background music that might feel repetitive over time. The location can be tricky to find, but the staff's willingness to assist adds a touch of warmth to the visit.
While the service is functional and the intimate setting offers privacy, the overall experience may not fully meet expectations for those seeking a more comprehensive or luxurious treatment. It's an affordable option for a quick relaxation session, but it may not be the top choice for regular visits without a voucher.

The massage was good. I got two deep tissue massage voucher as a gift from my niece. The place was hard to find. It's a good thing I went into the salon and ask. She rents a small room in there. The music was ok but I felt it was on repeat a lot. The massage didn't last 60 minutes. more like 40 minutes. I will use my other voucher but probably wouldn't pay with my own money here again. She could've used more pressure with a deep tissue massage. she didn't focus enough on certain areas.
What a joke, I'm so disappointed I wasted an hour of my time here. First, it's hard to find. There is only a tiny sign as she apparently rents a small room off a hair salon. The room is small, cold and noisy from the salon. I was her first appointment of the day and she was late, so she was akwardly trying to get the room "ready". I booked a deep tissue massage and it was more like an oily rundown using her elbows. There was no deep tissue, there was no massage. She did this weird fluttery thing on my face which at that point I was so fed up I almost walked out. I bought 2 Groupons & had scheduled my 2nd massage but this will be canceled and I guess I'll eat the cost because I can't see wasting another hour of my life here. You get what you pay for. I like to use Groupon to try new places, but sometimes you just get burned like here.
I wish I had seen these reviews prior to purchasing my Groupon. The massage was awful. No pressure, WAY too much lotion (I broke out on my back), and just generally uncomfortable. It’s very hard to schedule with her, too. She’s booked up for months, but you have to use the Groupon within 3 months. I like to support small businesses, but this one needs massive improvements.
Horrible experience. I had a hard time finding the salon, there's no clear signage and no mention that she's renting inside a hair salon. Ruth was 5 minutes late to the appointment. She didn't check me in, I didn't fill out any paperwork about existing injuries or preferences or areas I'd like to be worked out. I went to get undressed and noticed a large clump of hair on the floor, so I opened the sheets on the bed and there was hair in there too. I said something and we switched rooms but I was nervous. I took my shoes off and stepped in a little pile of gravel - the place was dirty and needed a basic sweep and mop. Her techniques felt very juvenile and untrained. She massaged my feet and then massaged my face lightly without washing her hands in-between. She also overstretched my neck and I had to tell her to stop. I was walking out at 11:05 when we started at 10:10 due to Ruth being late and having to switch beds so I didnt get the full 60 minutes - but that's okay because I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Do not visit this salon.
Not the nicest place she rents out a room in a hair salon. No one told her I was there I sat out in the waiting area for 15 mins. Weird massage on my face which I did not like just like someone stated in a different review due massages my feet then proceeded to my face...yuck. the lotion smelled awful. The music came from a tablet that kept getting notifications so it was disruptive. Was suppose to start at 12 started at 12:20 got out at 1:05 . I would not recommend this place at all.
Do not buy the Groupon for facials here!! I tried to redeem my Groupon with this lady. First, she has incorrect available days and times listed on her website. Second, after I scheduled an appointment and she called to tell me it wouldn't work, she told me I should just ask for a refund from Groupon without even attempting to find a day/time that worked for me. When Groupon told me they couldn't refund my money, I called her to ask for my refund and she accused me of trying to screw her over. Perhaps someone needs a lesson in customer service. By the looks of the other negative reviews, I'd say that statement is correct.
Booked 2 appts 2 months in advance, 1 week before appt was scheduled, they rescheduled 1 of my of appts without notification and canceled the 2nd appt also without notification. When I called to verify appt times, no one answered and i had to leave a message. The woman who returned my call accused me of canceling the appts myself and that she had nothing to do with scheduling and refused to answer my questions. At which point she told me to cancel my appts and get my money back because she didn't want me there then promptly hung up on me.
