When my friend introduced Dr. Li, I was hesitant because Dr. Li's practice is in Syracuse NY but I live more than 200 miles away. But because I had been troubled by the pain in my joints for so long and I had little luck with different pain treatments clinic/practices, I finally decided to give it a try. I was so glad I made the right decision. Unlike lots of acupuncturists, who possess little knowledge about Chinese medicine and/or anatomy, Dr. Li has deep knowledge about Chinese traditional medicine. He is a master of using the needles and his method of massaging reflects his broad knowledge about human bodies. Although I live far away, I go to his clinic every month. After several times of treatments, I have seen the results as my joints are able to move with wider scales. I am very confident to recommend Dr. Li to anyone who has joints problems!

When I was introduced to Dr. Li and his Primrose Spa, I was experiencing pain under my left shoulder blade due to a previous shoulder dislocation I had as a swimmer. Although the dislocation was treated at a hospital, the leftover muscle and joint tightness in the area remained in the form of pain and discomfort. Therefore, I went to Dr. Li to explore the efficacy of acupunture. Dr. Li exhibits impeccable skill as an acupuncturist. He first identified the areas on my back that require treatment, then began the acupuncture. The needle piercing, unlike receiving a flu shot, was completely painless. I could only feel faint sensations of the presence of needles on my back. This can only be attributed to Dr. Li's incredible skill in making the acupuncture seamless. As I was being treated by the inserted needles, Dr. Li explained to me that the needles around my pain areas all displayed color changes, indicating the need for further treatment. In the end, even after this first round of treatment, my shoulder joint pain was under control. To me, it was an amazing exprerience. Months later, my grandmother--suffering from knee pain--visited Dr. Li. She, just like me, had a pleasing experience during and after the acupuncture process. Thus, she ended up visiting Dr. Li three more times afterwards and now her knee pain has greatly improved. Hence, I want to recommend Primrose Spa to anyone experiencing joint pain. There, Dr. Li will ensure you a pleasant and effective treatment.

Any acupuncture is better than none. Acupuncture with Chinese medical massage (tuina) is even better. Acupuncture with tuina by the same person with a lot of clinical experience and a deep understanding of Chinese medicine – that is beyond compare. Dr. Yongzhe Li (李永哲) is the best. Due to massive adhesions (scar tissues) in my abdomen diagnosed in 2017, 15 years after a surgery in 2002, I had experienced gastroenterological symptoms of various kinds, accompanied by severe weight loss. My physician had many tests done for me and did not discover anything. In desperation I went to see Dr. Decheng Chen (陈德成), a Chinese acupuncturist and herbalist, in NYC. He found out in the first thirty 30 minutes of our first meeting that my condition was one of overgrowth of post-surgery adhesions that prevented my inner organs from functioning properly. He treated me with tuina and needles. I live in Central New York. I traveled by Greyhound to NYC every week or two, except for the snow season, to see Dr. Chen. My condition started to improve very quickly, and I went regularly for three summers and falls, until COVID happened in spring 2000. I had to stop for the next two years and I experienced relapse. Then, I was thrilled to have found Dr. Li in Syracuse, NY in February 2022. He does both acupuncture and tuina himself. That means he touches and feels the patients’ problems firsthand and exactly before he needles. I went to see him the first time on February 16, 2022. I told him my long story. After a couple of visits, I already felt so much better that my mentality began to change obviously for the more positive. In about two months, by late April 2022, my appetite increased, and my symptoms became fewer, lighter, and increasingly less noticeable. I could eat fruits and nuts again. I began to have a glow on my face. My car tissues softened some. I also slowly but steadily improved in other areas, such as anxiety, insomnia, chronic fatigue, constipation, skin itch, shoulder pain, neck pain, low back (lumbar) pain, stiff muscles ... An age spot on my right cheek lightened in color gradually and then disappeared. I did not ask Dr. Li to target at these problems, but I got better regardless. It is now May 2023. Now, I very rarely experience any symptoms. If I do at all, they are passing, and they do not bother me much. I sleep well. I no longer wake up at 2 or 3 am with anxious thoughts about everything that happen during the day. My hard-as-a-board abdomen is softened, and I actually am gaining weight finally. I am social, energetic, and rejuvenated. I read and write with a clarity of mind that I do not remember having even in my much younger days. I have been seeing Dr. Li once a week without fail, except for the heavy snow season. It has been only a little over a year. Considering the severity of my condition – hard adhesions under the skin and deeper in my abdomen for so many years – a year seems to be a short time. I enjoy the positive energy of Dr. Li, his facial therapist wife Julia, as well as the clinic itself. I still see Dr. Li for regular maintenance to better enjoy both life and work. Finally, Dr. Li is focused, patient, and masterful – very hard to find. I also discovered over time that he practiced in Japan for 8 years and in NYC for 10 years. No wonder he has so much clinical experience. He grew up bilingual in Korean and Chinese in Yanbian, China. He is near native in Japanese, which my Japanese colleague who has received treatment from him can testify to. Needless to say, he speaks English. Anyone suffering from post-surgery adhesions or adhesion-related conditions should consider acupuncture and tuina. Chinese medicine in general works for a lot of challenging health issues that are not even recognized in western medicine, although western medicine has its own merits. I understand that a lot of people don’t believe in Chinese medicine. But, it is not a matter of belief; it is matter of paradigm shifting. If one does not try, how is one to know, anything?
