The Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown offers a central location near local attractions, blending urban convenience with Marriott’s reliable service. The lobby presents a welcoming, modern aesthetic, while the staff consistently delivers attentive and accommodating assistance, particularly during extended stays or special requests. Rooms feature clean, functional spaces with updated furnishings, though some may find them compact.

Guests appreciate the proactive valet service and the hotel’s proximity to dining options, including nearby restaurants. They advertise as upscale which it is not. It is a very standard hotel. The lobby is nice and service was decent. They room was very basic and had the loudest ducting system I have ever dealt with in a hotel room. Was truly horrible. Room was clean. Valet was proactive and had our car ready for checkout. Will definitely find a different location next time.

First time using the keyless card feature. I checked in, but when got to hotel realized I had to pay for parking so we had to go up to front desk anyway. Turns out I was at the wrong hotel and had to walk across the street. So make sure you know where you are headed to the right Marriott. Area felt safe and we walked to a Mexican restaurant, Mexico Magico and although not great Mexican food the chips and salsa was good and food decent enough. Our room had nice view of Rainier.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Tacoma, and while there were some positive aspects, my overall experience left much to be desired. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the view from the room was lovely. The interior had a nice aesthetic, but it felt outdated, lacking the fresh touch expected from a hotel charging around $400 per night. Upon entering the room, I expected more attention to detail. Basic amenities like toothbrushes and toothpaste were not provided, and I had to request these items. Additionally, while the hotel offered bottled water, I was surprised to find that there was an extra charge for it, which detracted from the welcoming atmosphere I anticipated. Having recently stayed at various Airbnbs that, despite similar pricing, offered a more personalized touch with thoughtful small details, I couldn’t help but feel that this hotel fell short. Although it has a certain reputation, I believe it could significantly improve by investing in more modern decor and ensuring that guests feel genuinely cared for. Overall, while there were highlights during my stay, I feel the hotel has room for improvement to truly match the expectations set by its pricing and reputation.

I stayed here to visit my family and deal with health issues with my mom. The staff was so accommodating from the start of getting there at midnight. The weekday valet fella was so sweet and accommodating. My tv broke a the maintenance guy was so patient and didn't leave until the problem was resolved. I can't say enough good things about the friendly staff. Will definitely stay again.

The rooms were clean but very small. There was no fan in the bathroom that always kind of turns me off and there was no coffee in the lobby. Only the stuff in the room. No fresh brood unless I wanted to pay separate for it. I haven't been to a hotel in quite a while that didn't have brewed coffee available for free and at least a continental breakfast. They didn't even have that. Most of the places these days have a really nice breakfast.

Rooms were good and comfortable no problem. Service was good, the people at the desk and bistro were nice and helpful. Location was alright, there’s no designated parking for the courtyard and the "valet" gets full quickly so you have to park on the street. 8.5/10

This was first time staying here. Room was okay. Pretty standard. Didn't like that the bathroom door did not lock (it was a sliding barn door). They didn't tell us that we needed to use the room key to get the elevator to work (another guest showed us how). They charge $26+tax. Then they charged us for parking twice for one night. Then they said they couldn't refund our money until the manager came in 3:00 later that day. Check out is at 11:00 am, so we weren't going to be there. They said they would email me to let me know it was refunded, but never heard from anyone. So, we wound up paying $52 for parking one night!!!
