East Side Club

This is the 1st time in 20yrs I've been back. This place never disappoint. The 24hr facility is much better than 20yrs ago. Has more rooms, nice sauna, steam room, play areas with tv, a G-rated lounge, plenty of bathrooms, two areas of showers. The staff is very friendly & nice, even in difficult times. They give out lube and towels. Paying the membership of $50 is worth it & $45 4hrs video room is worth it. Be sure to tip because the staff go out of their way to make the place clean and enjoyable. The patrons there are of all ethnic backgrounds, all shapes & sizes, & most of the time very respectful & friendly; Had an enjoyable time tasting. Other than that, it's a great place to unwind, destress, & rest. Best time to go is on the weekends after 10pm into the early morning hours

I live in Albany and went here the first this past Thursday 11.20.25 and was actually happily surprised, everyone talks so much shit for no reason, place is clean and well kept. Staff was nice and professional, even gave me coupon. Place has 3 floors, 2 very nice shower rooms, steam room and dry sauna. The rooms are also nice and clean. Only complaint was that there was only 1 TV playing porn and the music would stop playing for somewhat long periods of time. But given the history of gay saunas in Manhattan and how the pandemic in the 80s negativity impacted this type business, this place actually is very nice. I went to the one in Las Vegas, and this place was much better. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend. Also, please tip the staff, and don’t ask stupid questions, it’s a gay saunas!

It's just not my thing.. I wish it were, and that that first time meeting would have worked out.. But some songs end before they begin leaving much that should have been said unsaid, like a dance with empty steps... Someday you'll find this and know that my universe ended the moment you walked out of the cubicle so long ago... Tell Ivan I'm happy for the two of. Remember; My own terms.

I have been three times over the course of several years. None have been all that exciting. The last time I went was a while ago, however I remember some issue with towels. Cut to: yesterday I went on a wednesday around 2am and wasn't surprised that there were probably only 10 people there total. The man attending the towels berated me for having more than one towel and accused me of wasting towels and leaving towels around. Its a shame because they are one of the last bathhouses in NYC post covid. In my opinion, East Side Club is a dying business and they aren't doing much to help their case. Where is it in Business For Dummies where they say to accuse and lambast your customers when they're trying to clean up a towel someone left on the floor?

Great experience! I had my doubts, but so glad I visited. Very subtle and discrete access, found on the 6th floor of 227, entrance through lobby and take elevator up. Staff friendly and welcoming for a first time tourist, and also attentive to keeping the venue clean and tidy. My only gripe is having to pay membership fee for a single visit, when on a short vacation visit to the city.

Visited East Side Club on October 28th, 2025, around 8:30 AM with my boyfriend, planning to spend a nice morning there. At the entrance, the front desk employee discouraged us from entering, saying they were cleaning and that the place was empty. We didn’t argue and simply stepped outside for a few minutes to decide our next move. A few moments later, the same man came down to the lobby and spoke to us very rudely, telling us we couldn’t stay there and pointing out the cameras for no reason. He then started making inappropriate comments about my boyfriend’s appearance — saying he looked tired and should go to sleep — and even about his gym bag. Such behavior is completely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially from someone representing the business. When we told him we’d leave a review, he said he didn’t care — so here it is. It may be a men-only club, but respect should still be the first rule. I’ve worked in similar places before, and I know this kind of attitude would never have been tolerated.

Went today for the first time. The staff were not rude as per other reviews, I would say they are very matter of fact or very New York. I was charged $43 (temp 5 day membership $15 and $28 room hire) which had to be paid in cash. The guy before me was told he was allowed to stay for 4hours. The place was very clean everywhere I went in the public areas. I got a room and that too was very clean. Unlike other saunas, ESC has no gloryholes, darkroom, play area or jucuzzi. It’s just rooms, a dry sauna, steam room and a small video/porn room and showers. The clientele was on the older side while I was there and it was not busy at all for it being a sauna in New York which I found a bit sad. While I did not have a negative experience I would probably not return again.
