Sidestreet Bar

Great atmosphere. Amazing patio. The bartender Byron helped us out a lot with yummy drinks, since we usually haven't had mixed drinks, he is awesome. Had lots of fun. I was pool and dart champion of the night.

I absolutely love this bar. Came here on a whim a year ago and now plan my kc trip around making sure I can go to see my favorite bartender. The drinks are great but the service is even better. Now we a planning a road trip from Texas to take all of our friends. If driving 9 hours to go to a bar doesn’t say enough about how amazing this place is, idk what will!

Here's the tea sis, Gay dive bars are the spaces that need to be preserved like Graceland. And this is a great American Gay dive bar. Jamon was so welcoming and so inviting me to the world of sidestreets. They have a fire playlist, pool tables, darts and an AMAZING backyard. The American gay dive bar is alive and well in an unexpected place, Kansas City.

Just awful. * Really awful. The one bartender was absolutely rude as hell. Treated us with such arrogance. And the regulars were not much better. The entire feeling and atmosphere is bizarre. We left after finishing our beers. There are much more relaxing places in KC than this sad little place. And it reaks of sewage. The whole place smells like a toilet. Most definitely will NOT be back. Note: This has been screenshot so have it deleted I put it back. People need to know.

Their back patio is amazing. It’s big, the vibe is great. You should note that they are cash only. I did notice an ATM inside. There are at least two (perhaps 3 bathrooms). We didn’t buy food here bc we had just eaten at a birthday party.

I was really impressed with this place! It had clean restrooms (shocking in a bar!), good prices, and friendly bartender. I was pleased with the bar games and I took a peak at the outdoor patio and it was amazing. Granted we did go on a Tuesday night but you could see how full it could get in the summer months! The only thing I would say is maybe order some better darts otherwise it’s a very nice gay sports bar!

One of the best gay bars in KC. Parking is a little off. But, everyone goes for the Outdoor Patio (plenty of heaters for winter)
