We saw the voodoo daiquiri (purple drank) in an article of must tries so when we were visiting we decided to give them a try. It didn't disappoint, we aren't big drinkers so they were strong tasting but they were well worth it. We also tried their hurricanes as we were told they were better than the originals. They were good! Not as sweet as the others.
Known for being the oldest bar in American History. The place is certainly rustic. The service was quick, however the Hurricane wasn't great at all. The live music was great. The atmosphere gave mysterious as the space is dimly lit.
Great place to sit and talk. Great drinks (strength and taste). Incredible staff (very friendly). Awesome location history. Beats the hustle and bustle of the busy end of Bourbon St. All the customers here are the friendly kind. Always on my list of places to visit on NOLA trips.
Went to this bar to see the historic building, and it's absolutely worth a visit for the history alone. However, I was a bit disappointed with the service. I expected a little more professionalism when I asked about non-alcoholic options, and the bartender's comment about 'only serving real drinks' felt unnecessary. For someone who can't drink, it would have been nice to at least be offered a water bottle. It's a great place to visit for the atmosphere and history, but just be aware that they don't seem to cater to those looking for non-alcoholic beverages so you don’t have to go through an unnecessary comment and an unprofessional bartender
Very cool super old bar with live piano entertainment, feels cosy and intimate with the dim lights! Loved the voodoo daiquiri (purple drink). A must visit on the quieter part of Bourbon Street.
Come and stay for a bit and watch all the tourists gawk as you enjoy a beer! It's absolutely a must see when in town. Fun, not stuffy, casual and comfortable. If you go alone you'll make at least 3 friends by the time you finish your first drink. Worth a visit!
The architecture is amazing. It almost looks like over the years there was more and more added onto the building. Definitely reminded me of bars in Ireland.
