OK, so, I decided to have my birthday here because I had been once before this year with my boyfriend and had the best meal ever -so I wanted to share this experience with my friends. There were 13 of us and we were put in a back corner room which they use as their party table. As soon as we sat, the air conditioner came on very strong blowing on all of us in an extreme manner. We asked that it be turned down. Staff member said that they would. Later they said that that wasn’t the air conditioning, but it was just the ventilation system. I understand that we are in a building that is cooking food on tables with a lot of little stoves and they probably have to do a lot for ventilation. However, people had to go outside in late December to get warm! That’s how cold it was. My friends went to their cars and brought an extra layers to bundle up with. And many of my friends ended up leaving quickly at the end of the night because they couldn’t take the cold any longer. We made the best of it, but it was embarrassing to hold my friends captive in this winter tundra. We joked about how we came here to camp and be frozen in a snowstorm in the corner. Many of us work in the service industry, so we didn’t blame the staff, However, it definitely put a big damper on my birthday, Especially the fact that people needed to leave early just in order to feel comfortable. The food was delicious and I would like to come back, but, I just felt like I really needed to point out that this is not a sustainable situation at least for that back party room. I wish that the manager offered some sort of discount or something for the insanity of it all. Would’ve been a nice gesture. I can’t imagine that we were the only table that has been through this conundrum. And I also don’t think that this type of extreme ventilation is required in order to keep the building safe. Ive been to similar restaurants and never felt this frozen before. I feel like this is something that they should address.

We eat here almost every month! Jason is one of the best servers there! Super attentive, kind, and friendly! Love the variety of selections and meat is perfectly marinated! My favorite item there is the salad (I could eat 100 bowls of this)!

Fantastic anniversary dinner with my husband here. Our server was exceptionally nice and timed all the courses perfectly. She also changed our grill as needed and without interrupting the flow of the meal. Well indicated allergy listings on the menu. Lots of gluten free options. Well educated staff. Everything we ordered was delicious, with a good variety of marinades, seasonings and sauces. The kimchi was perfectly cold and crisp.

Went for lunch, the waiter was patient in explaining the menu and how Japanese BBQ operates. There are many specials on the menu that are cost saving and we took advantage of them. The food came quickly, and was delicious. We enjoyed the lunch so much, it felt like an event dining experience. The only improvement I can see is the decor/atmosphere, it was a mix of fine dining and diner. Don't cheap out on napkins, and please provide quality chop sticks. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we will be back.

We had a great time. Group of 12. It's a bit pricey, but you get a lot of food. We got a meal for 6 and a meal for 4 with a few extra side dishes and had plenty. Our server was amazing. No complaints.

I love this place ! I lived in south OP for almost 3 years and this is literally down the road but I never went in because I didn’t think they’d have gluten free options. Turns out all their sauces (minus teriyaki) ARE GLUTEN FREE!! Tried many meats, the salad is my favorite and the veggie rice bowl !! Tried the beef rice bowl once and it was good but very spicy for me .. mango tea was good. Sadly always got too full off food so never tried desserts but my family really liked the green tea ice cream! I brought 3 friends separate times to dine here will be telling others too! Very nice staff too , greeted when walking in .

We had a great time at Gyu-Kaku last Saturday (Nov/8th) for the 3rd time. The eight of us have already tried Gyu-Kaku’s A-la-Carte menu and Course menu previously, so this time we ordered Premium-All-You-Can-Eat Menu instead. We absolutely loved our selections that included the quality & variety of the meats, tasty appetizers and yummy dessert. We felt a perfect sense of satisfaction & accomplishment when we finished our meals in time with zero waste. Gyu-Kaku webpage is easy on the eyes & fun to navigate which provides customers a clear overview. The room setting is elegant and friendly. The staff are knowledgeable and courteous. We happened to run into the new store owner Frank who seems to be very personable. Frank answered our questions patiently & effectively. I highly recommend Gyu-Kaku to anyone who seeks fine-dining, fun atmosphere, competitive pricing, accountability & sustainability.
