Customer Reviews
Tilden has a rating of 3.4 out of 5 based on over 134 reviews on Google
The owner is incredibly rude. Their system for memberships never works. Costs $60 for a year membership paid in two visits; I already paid in full but their system didn't register it due to many errors. Now they claim I owe $20 even tho I've already paid. It took a full 30+ mins waiting in line to be denied entry. The bar isn't even worth going to. The music is always good but it's so loud you can't hear anyone around you. The one bartender added an additional tip on my credit card, I tried numerous times to call to get it figured out but the owner never called me back. Plus, the drinks are expensive. I probably won't be going back for a while, if ever. Pittsburgh needs a better after hours space. *Edit, as a response to the owner: I stood in the line by myself, barely talked to anyone while I waited patiently. I was skipped and overlooked numerous times before I got to the end of the line. The comment just goes to show that the owner of this establishment takes no personal accountability for her poor treatment of patrons and is willing to be untruthful and dismissive of people that bring business to this space week after week. Also, completely skips over the fact that a bartender stole from me and moves into calling me "angry bird" rather than considering why I'm frustrated. Unprofessional, rude, and immature.
Everything is lovely just seeing if they can look up your membership if you go the next time or do you have to pay $40 dollars again? If you’re looking for an after party I don’t recommend walking too far down the street when it closes.
Fun afters spot. A bit pricey to get in but is one of very few afters spot in the city. It is jammed packed on any holiday but the bartenders are pretty impressive in terms of serving customers in an efficient manner. My main critique would be there needs to be more bathroom stalls and that it would be nice to have more variety of DJs and maybe an effort to make things more specific week to week
I’ve been a regular at Tilden, visiting almost every weekend for the past four months, and I’ve always enjoyed my experiences—until tonight. This evening, I brought two friends who were interested in purchasing memberships. Unfortunately, our night was completely ruined by an incident at the door. The staff insisted that I (a member) needed to purchase a new membership despite having paid $40 for an annual membership earlier in the year, with an additional $20 fee on another occasion. My friends decided against getting their memberships due to the unexpected costs for me and the discourteous behavior, particularly from the woman at the door. Running a successful business—something I am familiar with from my experience managing a business valued at $100 million—requires dedicated personnel and a consistent customer service policy. I hope Tilden reevaluates its approach. Tonight’s experience was a disappointment, and I feel compelled to reconsider my patronage.
Recently me and my friend purchased a membership for $40, but after I purchased mine using their new system instead of being given a card, when I scanned my ID at the entrance it failed to recognize that I paid already. I wasn’t about to pay $40 again, but I was able to get in after I gave them my entire information from my ID..The black lady that was handling this was rude and acted like she was the queen of the place. I wasn’t drunk enough to not know what I was doing, but she was acting like I was lol. Secondly, one of the male bartenders charged me and my friend $55 for two drinks, which is just crazy. Clearly they’re just trying to scam people now. Smh.
The machine to verify ID was not picking up my ID. They do not have a backup plan. The door woman was no help. I had the $40 Dollars for the membership but she was no help. The club has no one to help you out. Giving the experience 2 thumps down. Will never waste my time with the club again.
Tilden Night Club at 941 Liberty Avenue offers a unique experience for the Metropolitan and LGBTQ+ community, with an exclusive membership fee of $60.00 annually allowing unlimited visits without additional entry fees. This alone is a fantastic deal compared to other after-hour clubs, making it worth considering. However, there are several downsides that cannot be ignored. The most glaring issue is the overwhelming presence of cigarette, marijuana, and vaping smoke. As a non-smoker, the toxic secondhand smoke is a significant health concern and drastically affects the club's atmosphere, earning just 1 star in this regard. Additionally, Tilden does not serve food, which is a major drawback. Having bar snacks like chips, peanuts, or pretzels would be a simple yet effective improvement. Currently, this lack of food options merits a 3-star rating. Regarding drinks, the club charges $5.00 for non-alcoholic beverages like ginger ale and cranberry juice. Given the flat taste of the ginger ale and the high price for soft drinks, this is another area where Tilden falls short, deserving another 3-star rating. One of the most troubling aspects is the blatant drug usage and transactions happening on the premises. It's clear that the management has turned a blind eye to this issue, creating an unsafe environment. This significant oversight earns Tilden just 1 star for safety and management. Despite these issues, Tilden Night Club does offer a fun and vibrant atmosphere with a diverse crowd. The people are friendly, and it's a great place to dance and socialize. However, improvements in air quality, snack availability, drink pricing, and safety are essential for a better experience. Overall, I recommend Tilden for its unique membership model and vibrant community, but be prepared for the challenges outlined above.
