We had an excellent experience at J. Alexander’s. From the moment we walked in, the hosting staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel taken care of right away. Our waitress provided outstanding customer service—friendly, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed without ever feeling rushed. The food was absolutely phenomenal; everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. This was a top-notch dining experience from start to finish, and we’ll definitely be back.
First time here, and we will return! Service was friendly and felt personalized. We had the baked potato soup (special for the day), chicken with goat cheese (forget the exact name), side of Mac n cheese, and salad w/crispy chicken. All were excellent! Be sure to try the pear ginger martini - absolutely delicious! Be sure to make reservations - they were busy.
The folks at the restaurant are super sweet. Our server Charles was helpful, professional, and warm. The food is absolutely top-notch! What a great restaurant.
Fantastic experience … your staff, food and cocktails did not disappoint. Looking forward to many business lunches and happy hours. Frank and Nick thanks for the hospitality. Our servers at the bar you were all great. This is exactly what I remember from the many visits to your Boca Raton location. I’ll be back!
We recently dined at J. Alexander’s and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, the steak and ribs were under-seasoned and lacked the depth of flavor we expected. The deviled eggs also felt a bit flat. On the positive side, the mac and cheese was excellent, the salads were fresh, and the fries and fried chicken sandwich were both very good. Service, however, was the most disappointing part of the evening. After we finished our appetizers, there was a significant delay before our server, Jay, returned to take our entree order. When he did, he stepped away mid-order to handle something else, which made the experience feel disjointed. Throughout the meal, he was difficult to track down and did not check back in a timely manner. Additionally, when delivering a martini to the table, nearly half of it spilled before it was set down. We were surprised that a replacement wasn’t offered or the drink adjusted on the bill, as that would have been an easy opportunity to recover the moment. The ambiance is one of the restaurant’s strengths and the music was at a perfect volume and the staff did a great job keeping water glasses full. Overall, while the setting was enjoyable, the food didn’t stand out enough to bring us back, especially with so many strong dining options at Legacy West. One additional note: we were surprised to see no salmon option on the sushi menu.
4.75* This place rarely hits the mark as far as offering nice atmosphere, good service and solid value. And a huge plus is their wine bottle mark ups are very fair on several that I checked against. Filet was better than most steakhouses I’ve been to. Right cook, very tender and seasoned just right. Aubrey our server was very observant to what we might need and all in all it was a very positive experience. The one knock was my wife’s veggie burger. It was way too salty. But we will be back!
My friend and I decided to have an early dinner to celebrate her birthday. I really enjoyed my experience. Our waiter Jared was so attentive and provided helpful insight on our menu selections. My friend has a gluten allergy and he went the extra mile to ensure her experience was safe and tasty. I selected the Mardi Gras pasta...it was delicious! My cocktails were tasty too... Old Fashion and 21. I plan to revisit soon.
