The Black Walnut Inn

This is a lovely historic inn and the couple who own and run it are extremely nice, professional, and helpful. I stayed in the Poet’s Room upstairs (they helped me carry up my bags), which was spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. The mattress was perfect and I loved having a couch and big-screen TV in the room. There were several breakfast options, all of which they could make gluten-free. The meal I chose included an omelet, gf toast, gf muffin, and a yogurt and fruit parfait, as well as juice, tea, and coffee. I was even given a muffin for the road. The parking is off-street and safe and secure, so no need to worry if you have items in your car.

The Inn was absolutely amazing!!! Went with my boyfriend for my bday and we had a wonderful time in the beautiful farm theme room. Breakfast was so delicious with lots of options and good portion size! Would recommend to anyone in the area needing a place to stay!!! Would definitely come back.

What a cute little Inn!! Very very clean and cozy. I chose to spend my birthday night here. The price was perfect for one night. I gave the location 4 stars only because it's not close to home unfortunately. I will be staying here again in the future for sure.

Great experience! We were in a situation that required flexibility; the proprietors gracefully accommodated. The rooms were clean, spacious, tasteful The wood furniture throughout was beautiful. And speaking of tasteful - the breakfast was chock full of homemade and delicious items. I give it my highest recommendation, and will not stay anywhere else when we return.

Our stay at the Black Walnut Inn was wonderful! The furnishings were beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was immaculate...all making for a great stay. The breakfast was delicious! And those muffins and banana bread - wow! They were absolutely fabulous! We even spent time visiting with the chickens. They are so beautiful and friendly. My leftover oatmeal was their snack - talk about sustainability and recycling! We would recommend the Black Walnut Inn to anyone traveling to Amherst. The staff was friendly, kind, helpful, warm, and accommodating. We can't imagine there being a better place to stay. Bobbie and Paul

We had a delightful stay at the Black Walnut Inn! The room was comfortable, spotless, and quiet. The staff is lovely and their hospitality was unmatched. The breakfast was especially delicious!! We can't wait to stay there again.

Stayed for our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. This is hospitality done right!!! Meaghan and Gail were so sweet and accommodating, and breakfast was so delicious every morning. The rooms are simply stunning and the whole inn has been recently updated incredibly tastefully. Great location in North Amherst. Why stay at an app-found short term rental when you can stay somewhere like this?? We can’t wait to stay again soon!!
