We stayed on the first floor for two days and moved up to the Sunset room for another three days after my daughter moved into the dorm. Everything was way beyond my exception, the bed, the decoration, fresh flowers, coffee, tea and not to mention the breakfast. Kathleen and her friend Matthew are such good host. They enjoy what they were doing and made ppl feel comfortable. Kathleen recommended Frita Batidos and Pacific Rim for dinning. The former is full of fun spirit, the later is more formal vibe. We loved them both.

Baxter House is my home away from home in Ann Arbor! My daughter attends college in Michigan and when I visit her, I always stay at Baxter House. A friend had recommended Baxter House to me years ago and now Ann Arbor and Kathleen's hospitality and breakfasts are inextricably linked! The location is fantastic (near Kerrytown, north of campus), and Kathleen is a gracious and thoughtful innkeeper. I love to meet the other guests at breakfast, and I'm already planning my next visit!

If you are visiting Ann Arbor for a few days or a week, you shouldn’t look for somewhere else. Just book this place if available. You won’t regret it. I felt like I was at home the entire time, and I enjoyed every second of my stay there. Kathleen is the nicest host possible. I really admire her for what she is doing at the age of 80. She is a very caring and genuine person. I will miss our conversations and her very tasty breakfast and tees. I hope she and Matthew visit our place in Turkey some time later. I would love to host them the same way she did. I have absolutely no negative or even neutral comments for her or for her place. When I come to this city again, I won’t book anywhere else. And the funniest part is that I didn’t even search too much for accommodation. I just booked a place that’s close enough to the conference venue. I feel so lucky.

My mom stayed here for 5 days to celebrate my graduation. She absolutely loved loved loved the experience, and preferred it vastly over hotels. It was a beautiful home with cozy rooms and a very deep bathtub. The breakfast was absolutely to die for and we had many things that I would like to make again myself. Kathleen herself is a lovely, friendly and welcoming host who knew Ann Arbor inside out. I 100% recommend her bed and breakfast to anyone visiting Ann Arbor, it’s a fantastic experience.

I was in Ann Arbor for a weekend, traveling solo. I had to be up early for the event I was in town for both Saturday and Sunday. Before I arrived, Kathleen was so helpful with travel details and information about Ann Arbor. Once I arrived, I knew we would be fast friends. My room was quiet and tucked upstairs. I slept so well! The location is perfect, near Kerrytown restaurants and the farmer's market, but an easy walk to downtown too. The best part of Baxter House is certainly Kathleen. She is charming, friendly, accommodating, and an EXCELLENT cook. My breakfasts were so delicious, and we chatted the whole time about our love of cooking and baking. She's also available for any advice about your visit, whenever you need it. Kathleen even got up early to make me breakfast before anyone else. I highly recommend Baxter House if you are looking for a home away from home and want to feel cosy and well looked-after.

Our four night stay at Baxter House in mid-April was outstanding. Kathleen is so thoughtful, thorough, and generous; we were treated like royalty. Still on our honeymoon, we repeatedly showed up for breakfast 2 hours after the other guests, but Kathleen cheerfully accommodated us every time, and she is a great conversationalist! Her breakfasts were heavenly, and she would've made us lunch if we'd needed it. It was immaculate, cozy, and bright. For hikers or naturalists, the location of this B & B is exceptional. There are 26 wooded Community Natural Areas with established trails within 2.5 miles, and 3 of them are within a mile. Great for birders! Having historic Kerrytown in the heart of Ann Arbor just a few blocks away is another bonus. We cannot recommend the Baxter House highly enough; we'll be back! Benji and Liza Jackson, WY April, 2022

Baxter house is a Perfect Location! It's a 3-5 minute walk to Kerrytown, Farmers Market, Zingermans Grocery/Deli, Hands on Museum, Hill Auditorium, movie theaters, and more. Kathleen is an extraordinarily amazing cook! The home is clean, with a 'cozy' feel to it, despite its size. I highly recommend Baxter House to anyone needing a place to stay in Ann Arbor!
