Bell Tower Hotel

Other than a few issues with getting hot water in our room, our stay was lovely. The manager was very accommodating and went out of his way to help us with a last minute printing need. The front desk staff was warm and kind. Getting our car in and out of valet parking was easy peasy and prompt. You can’t beat the location. We appreciate the team working to make our stay enjoyable.

The hotel is sandwiched in between a restaurant and what I think is a parking garage,, so it is extremely loud and smells pretty badly in the rooms. All of the furnishings, carpeting, elevator, etc., very outdated. The absolute worst part was that my room was above the alley, where all of the used fryer and cooking containers are, and my window got stuck open and never fixed so I had the smell grease for three days. Always take the good with the bad. All levels of staff were very nice, the breakfast was decent and there is the coolest chessboard there thatI've seen in a while. It's one you play standing up! Close to lots of very tasty restaurants as well!

I have always loved this hotel, but during my most recent stay (Jan 16-19), my experience was extraordinary. I'm walking with a cane and had quite a bit of difficulty dragging my luggage through several inches of frozen slush from the Blake Transit Center. Ashley at the front desk not only ordered me a taxi back to Blake when I left three days later, but also got me a taxi to the Power Center the first night and attempted to get me a taxi back to the hotel after the performance. When she learned the taxi service hadn't dispatched a taxi to pick me up at the Power, she went running down Washington to find me and make sure I made it back to the Bell Tower safely. I paid over $800/night on a football weekend. I understand the special event merits premium pricing; however, there is no justification to attempt to gouge me with $2.50 mini-bottles of water in the room! I feel as if $800 for a 250 sq ft room could include a complimentary bottle of water or two?! If the hotel's budget simply can't afford this basic amenity, charge you guests $810/night and offer them all the water they can drink. It's as if the entire hotel industry has forgotten that they are in the hospitality business.

I don't know how you can not have hot water at a hotel. When asked we were told that we were 10th room complaining about no hot water. They suggested we regulate the hot water in the shower by using the water in the sink which also did not work. The fitness room is in a glorified closest and the elliptical machine was not operable. I understand you pay for location, but at these prices you would hope some of the basics would be available as well.

Only good thing about this place is the location. Old hotel, out dated rooms, I tried to turn the heat on in my room and the temperature actually decreased by 7 degrees instead. They even lock the front doors at night which is fine, but they answered the phone with an attitude like we were bothering them by having to open the door for us.

If you’re traveling with a child or baby, bring your own travel crib/bassinet/pack ‘n play!! The pack n play provided by this hotel is shocking - literally zero padding, it’s a hard cardboard slab in lieu of a mattress, and as I type our poor 7 month old, who is a very happy and chill little guy, is screaming his brains out in discomfort. Wish we had known and would have planned accordingly!
