Bowline Hotel

They have spacious and comfortable rooms. The fireplace in the rooms is relaxing and really beautiful. Seeing the sea lions was a wonderful experience. Everyone working there was kind and polite. The champagne offered as a welcome treat was good quality. I would definitely recommend it.

We got a last minute room & it was fantastic! Very very comfortable! Even the sleeper sofa was nice. Clean, upbeat, with a laid back yet luxurious feel. Staff was very welcoming & kind. We were offered complimentary champagne upon check in as well! Worth a stay!!

The Bowline is extremely overpriced for the hotel experience delivered. We paid over $500/night for a river view room Saturday - Sunday during February (so off-season.) Pro: The view and location Cons: - No hot water and terrible shower pressure - Bathroom was not clean. Hairs and grime on back of toilet, soap/lotion dispensers were caked with product. - Rest of room was very dusty, with holes in the pillow cases - There was trash from the previous occupant in a bin - Extremely uncomfortable memory foam bed. We both woke up with sore backs. - Multiple yapping dogs in the room across from us and down the hall. Could be heard clearly in the room. Doors slamming. - It took 30 minutes standing on line to check in. - Staff did not ask how our stay was, and barely acknowledged us when we checked out. Do not recommend.

This is our second stay at the Bowline and it certainly will not be out last! Every single thing about the hotel is fabulous. The location is beautiful, rooms right on the Columbia and walking distance to everything Astoria has to offer. The rooms are beautiful and so well appointed. The beds are the most comfortable hotel bed we’ve ever slept in. And the Frette sheets!!!!!! All of the room amenities are wonderful. The coffee is delicious, as are the teas. The toiletries are divine and we appreciate that they are all purveyors. We were there during some cold rainy nights and loved cozying up, staying nice and warm with the fire and watching the freighters. The staff is incredible…so friendly and welcoming. Loved chatting it up with Kat. The food and cocktails are amazing too. That holiday Cranberry 75 was next level delicious! Thank you, Hope. And those locally made coffee mugs are gorgeous!

We loved staying here and will definitely be back! Our room facing the water was wonderful and offered awesome views of the northern lights. The tub and outdoor sauna are nice touches as well. We were amazed by how close the sea lions came to the hotel—we saw so many of them, but couldn't really hear them from the room. Everything we ordered for room service from The Knot was delicious as well! Highly recommend!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Easy check-in, accommodating staff, fantastic bar drinks, appetizers, and meal options. Sauna’s conveniently located right on the pier, and the hotels location is convenient to everything we needed! It’s a great escape, Spectacular ocean scenery, frolicking sea lions & large ships to entertain you right off your porch! This unique micro hotel is an escape from the normal and is hard to beat- strongly recommend!!!

Really nice place, very posh. Great views and location. Walking distance to everything in downtown. Saunas were really nice. You have your own robes to wear to it and slippers that you can take home. Only reason for 4 stars, is the shower was showing signs of pink mold and that rubs off easy if you wipe a shower good, no scrubbing needed...it came off with my finger, so that tells me that they are not as detailed as they should be with some cleaning basics. I would stay there again for sure. Shower is not a deal breaker.
