Near the pier boutique hotel

We had a great stay here. The place is a bit unusual in that there is no staff on site to greet you but the instructions were clear and we found our way in and up to our room easily. If you are looking for a bed and breakfast, you'll need to bring your own breakfast - but there is a kitchenette in the room we had, which was a lovely feature. The breakfast at the Labor Temple Bar down the street is delicious and a bargain though so just pop down there instead. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed living a bit old-school and choosing DVDs from the library for our evening entertainment. The location was amazing for walking to shops and restaurants and there was little bit of a water view from the deck off the kitchenette, which I'm sure is amazing in the summer. We'll have to come back to see!

Wonderful location, very walkable but off the main drag so a bit quieter. I stayed in the attic room and it was the perfect size. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re super tall though. Unfortunately, they request you turn off the heater on checkout, so when I arrived my room was ice cold (I stayed in February)! Took probably 2 hours to get it to a decent temperature. Thankfully there is an extra space heater so you can crank them both. Overall, a pleasant stay.

I absolutely loved this hotel and wish we could have stayed longer than one night! We booked the attic room, and it gave total grandma vibes in the best way. Lacy curtains and tablecloths, turquoise carpeting flowered comforter, the free-standing bathtub. Even a stained glass along the stairwell leading up which is identical to my own grandmother's old house. It was so cozy, the bed and giant lounger sofa were insanely comfortable, the chairs looking out the window toward the water were so nice for morning coffee, and I really enjoyed having a glass of wine in the bathtub at night. ||Downstairs is equally old-fashioned and great. No check-in desk, just a keypad. We had no issues with parking on the street across from the hotel. And location is right by the Pigeon Steps and only a few blocks away from plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and the water. So cute.

Understand that this is a house built in 1900 so it is drafty and creaky. Difficult to sleep in if the person above you is walking around do to the creaky floors. We were staying for the festival of dark arts and decided to rebook agin for next year because it was a decent price. After booking for next year we were contacted saying the room we had booked was not available and we would need to cancel. I was told they had other rooms that I could rebook. When I did this I realized they had just forgotten to raise prices for next year's festival and wanted me to cancel so they could raise prices. I'm fine with charging more for high traffic weekends but this was their mistake and they would not honor the original price. Frustrating to think you have a reservation only to have it canceled on you. Will not be returning to this property. Lack of integrity and condition of the property are not worth the discount.

No check in info until a couple of hours before reservation despite requesting it multiple times, although responses were very polite. Check in was 4pm, checkout 11am. We stayed in the top attic room. I recommend the host add more extra bedding (there was a closet labeled 'extra bedding' that had only one loose knit blanket even though the futon had almost no bedding). It was a warm night, so that luckily wasn't a problem for us. The only real downside to our stay (may prevent us from returning) was the much too-strong air freshener scent. Lovely house! Amazing woodwork, many fun touches and details, very comfortable. So much character. Bigger than in photos. There was a/c, thank goodness (we stayed during a big heat wave). My whole family had a great time; we watched a movie and played with the radio and used the claw foot tub! It was clean, and the towels were fine, which I noted because of other reviews.

This charming hotel offers a unique experience. The room was notably clean, and the bed exceptionally comfortable. However, guests with limited mobility may find accessing the tub/shower challenging, though alternative room options with easier access might be available. The building and rooms are secured with keypad entry. This hotel would particularly appeal to independent travelers who appreciate privacy and a departure from the conventional hotel stay.

Neighborhood feel with a 5-10 min walk to everything downtown/waterfront. Very clean and charming. Loved our two nights in small but comfortable room 221. I loved all the kitschy and vintage furnishings throughout the house and felt like we had everything we needed: microwave, fridge, keurig, extra blanket and pillows, plates/silverware/cups/mugs. Extra towels and coffee supplies available in the hall was a nice touch, plus great selection of games and DVDs to borrow. Would be fun to stay here with a group and hang out in the spacious common areas on the main floor.
