My wife and I recently stayed at Commodore Perry Estate for a few days and the experience was exceptional! The ten acre estate is a relaxing property tucked away near downtown Austin. The hospitality shown by all the staff that we were fortunate to meet was truly appreciated! Each and every person on property made us feel at home. The architecture of the mansion, interior design, and manicured grounds were just as impressive in person as the images we observed. The restaurants on site were fantastic, between the amazing food, attentive staff, and exceptional cocktails, it was difficult to want to get away and enjoy many of the other phenomenal restaurants that Austin has to offer. My wife and I will absolutely be back for our quick Houston getaways! Thank You so much to all the Commodore Perry Estate staff for an unforgettable time!
Staying at Commodore Perry Estate was a fabulous experience from beginning to end. The attention is truly personalized—every member of the staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making your stay special. The property itself is phenomenal, beautifully designed, and incredibly relaxing. One of the highlights is that they are pet-friendly, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The amenities are excellent: the gym is well-equipped, the Mansion offers delicious breakfasts and lunches, and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. Honestly, words fall short in describing how special it was to be there and to be treated with such exceptional service. I can’t wait to return.
A True Austin Gem This is an excellent property in all the ways that matter. I stayed here as part of a group trip and found the food, service, facilities, and attention to detail to be in a class all its own. Every corner of the Commodore Perry feels intentional...from the beautifully maintained grounds to the thoughtful design touches in the rooms. The staff struck the perfect balance of warmth and professionalism, anticipating needs without ever being intrusive. Meals were outstanding, especially breakfast at the mansion. The setting feels peaceful and distinctly Austin, refined but relaxed. If you appreciate understated luxury (and are willing to pay for it), genuine hospitality, and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and enjoy, this is the place. *The only thing for the future is that they might consider adding golf, tennis, or spa on location.
I stayed at this property in February 2025 as a solo traveler. At $1200+++ per night, the experience did not meet expectations. There was no luggage assistance and no welcoming check-in; the front desk appeared indifferent. The valet staff were the only consistently courteous employees and I did not have a car. Check-out was handled well, and transportation to the airport was arranged promptly. The bathroom lighting was so poor that it was difficult to assess cleanliness. The most concerning issue was food and beverage service. I ordered room service for most of my stay. Food was delivered covered only once; otherwise, it traveled uncovered through public areas and across an exterior path before reaching my room, often arriving cold. I became ill on the morning of my departure. After returning home, I was hospitalized for seven days, underwent surgery, pumped full of IV antibiotics and was diagnosed with an E. coli infection. While I cannot say with certainty that the illness originated at the hotel, I dined exclusively on-site, left the property only once, and did not use restrooms elsewhere. I documented these concerns on the hotel’s post-stay survey and received no response from management. Given the price point and experience, BUYER BEWARE. I have no qualms paying for a 5 or 6 star experience, if that is what you receive.
This has been one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed. I am a frequent traveler, and this is truly one of the places where we have received the best service and attention. The rooms are extremely comfortable, the service is very personalized, and the staff makes you feel genuinely cared for. The food is incredible, and the facilities are spotless and impeccably maintained. I can honestly say this experience exceeded our expectations. I 100% recommend this place and would absolutely stay here again.
Loved our stay at the Commodore Perry Hotel. Everything about it was great..room, food, service, amenities. Could not have asked for a better experience..from start to finish. Highly recommend it. The front desk support was beyond superb! Special shout out to Iris, Lily, Harrah and Amanda. Sam made all our transportation needs a breeze..and Jessica at the mansion club could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Wish I could spend my whole life at the Commodore! What every hotel stay should aspire to be!!!!
There are many reasons to stay here, despite it being somewhat of an odd location if walkability to local shops and restaurants is your game. It's like a fabulous mansion in the heart of a smaller town that never caught up to it; with a few random strip mall shops, a coffee shop and a grocery store across the street, it does manage to have easy access to simple necessities. But on to the great things, starting with the Mercedes loaner program....a perfect complement to the fact that many popular places in Austin are definitely not walkable. You can literally borrow a fleet of amazing Mercedes, and not just E-class mid size, but fully electric G wagons, Maybachs, A63's, and other cool models we never had the luxury of trying because we ran out time. The valets are attentive and have the vehicles pulled up almost immediately upon request with an offer of water every time you leave. We will stay here again simply for this program! The resort grounds and buildings are gorgeous and well maintained. Our room (13) was very quiet and peaceful, although a bit on the smaller side, but the storage was plentiful, the tile beautiful, and the decor comfortable. The bathroom lighting was a bit dim but I thought I looked pretty good in the soft light so no complaints there. Turndown service was ok...no nightly treats but plenty of fresh water and slippers conveniently placed by the bed. The robes are very thin (I LOVE a good, thick hotel robe) but I guess in the middle of summer the thin ones might be nice. We stayed here in January and it felt almost empty, but I don't think it was. There was a roaring fireplace in the main lobby with games on a beautiful table, newspapers to grab and read, and coffee and tea service available what seemed like most of the day. The Mansion where the dining is located is simply stunning. The myriad roaring fireplaces and cozy nooks and crannies are sumptuous and romantic. Dinner there was fine and convenient but the dining scene in Austin is spectacular so we only ate there once. We will come back when the pool is active and useable as it was cold and windy while we were there. The property has a California /Santa Barbara vibe which is lovely. And there is a small 9 hole municipal golf course across the street that my husband played every day. Apparently it's been around since 1899 so he wasn't the only one out there at dawn when it was 42degrees but he said it was fun! The front desk area is calm and serene, with pleasant, good looking people who are very willing to assist and help with everything we asked. Our daughter's apartment is 4 min away so while she is renting there I imagine we will stay here a lot.
