Positive: The lobby has plenty of room to wait for your room to be ready. Staff was nice. Negative: Location was hard to get an Uber or taxi without them having to double park and causing us to step into the street

My stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore was nothing short of amazing from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly—everyone I encountered greeted me with genuine warmth, and the valet parking team made arrival and departure seamless and stress-free. I absolutely LOVED the wine hour, especially the cheese and crackers—such a classy touch that made me feel instantly welcomed. I was also so touched by the personalized card placed in my room, welcoming both me and my dog. It’s the small gestures that truly make a stay memorable, and Kimpton always gets it right. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also extremely accommodating with my dog, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful dinner without any hassle. That kind of hospitality is rare and so appreciated. And the room? Pure luxury. The bed was super comfortable, chic, and felt like sinking into a cloud. The views of the surrounding buildings were beautiful—one of those little things that makes you pause and just enjoy where you are. Everything about my stay was perfect. I genuinely had a great experience and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

This is a great hotel in a fantastic old building. The room was spacious and had a fantastic bathroom with walk in shower. The main floor had a luxurious, spacious seating area. Although we didn't eat there, they put on coffee each morning, which in my view was superior to poor quality coffee in the rooms. |I'd be happy to stay here again, although I would explore other locations in the city as well.

Extremely comfortable beds. I stay in hotels 200 nights a year (pilot) and this is a top 5 bed. Also, front desk attendant, Jay, was one of the most welcoming and helpful staff members of any hotel I’ve ever been to. Out of thousands of staff, he is top 0.1%! He needs to be recognized for his superior and exceptional service!

This hotel’s handling of my lost property has been awful. I left behind a coat—an expensive one, with immense sentimental value. I called four times in a single day. Each time, they promised a callback within minutes—no one ever did. After my persistence, they just said, ‘We don’t have it.’ I requested to speak to the general manager—no response. The lack of accountability is appalling. If you value your belongings, stay elsewhere. I demand the general manager contact me immediately to discuss compensation for my irreplaceable, expensive coat. This experience has been beyond disappointing.

The good: Walking into the lobby is absolutely beautiful, it looks like a regal ballroom rich with history. The room was huge and decorated really nicely. Bed was comfy and pillows were fluffy, the AC worked incredibly well. The front desk representative, Matthew, was so incredible nice!! The bad: the shower head spray pattern is too wide. By the time the water reaches you, the individual streams have moved so far apart it is uncomfortable. There were no water bottles in the room.

Unfortunately, this stay did not meet expectations for a hotel positioned as a 4-star property under the Kimpton brand. First, I was genuinely shocked to see microwaves placed in the hallways — and not hidden away, but located in some of the most visually beautiful areas of the building. It completely ruins the aesthetic and feels cheap, outdated, and very out of place for a boutique hotel. This is something you would expect in a budget motel, not in a historic luxury property. Second, there was no complimentary water in the room, and no coffee or coffee machine, which are basic amenities for a hotel of this category. For a 4-star hotel, this is simply unacceptable. The restaurant was very disappointing — both in terms of food quality and overall experience. It does not match the level or reputation the hotel is trying to maintain. On a positive note, the staff service itself was decent — the employees were polite and tried to be helpful, which is appreciated. However, parking is extremely expensive, located off-site, and despite the high price, retrieving the car took an unreasonably long time. The inconvenience does not justify the cost. Overall, this is a beautiful historic building with enormous potential, but poor management and weak operations significantly undermine the experience. The amenities, presentation, and overall execution do not align with a 4-star standard or with expectations associated with the Kimpton brand.
