Holiday Inn Express & Suites Birmingham-Irondale (East) by IHG

Great place to stay. Easy to get to. Rooms were clean. They accommodated our request of a top floor. Had a slight problem with our original room. Althea promptly took care of us with a smile and found another room on the top floor for us. This room was spacious and she exceeded our expectations for customer service. Breakfast was hot with many choices. Everyone was very pleasant to deal with.

am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Birmingham-Irondale. We paid nearly $400 for the weekend, and the room was unacceptable. There was visible dust, dead bugs, hair on the floor, rust and stains in the shower, and an overall unclean appearance. After messaging the hotel to request proper cleaning and fresh towels, I received no response. When I called, the employee (Deidra Patel) was defensive and hung up on me. When I went to the front desk, she avoided speaking with me and left the property. I was told no manager was available. I was also incorrectly notified that housekeeping had cleaned the room when it had not. Even after housekeeping came, the room still had visible stains. To make matters worse, there was a strong sewage smell in the hallway and our room on the last night. For the price paid, I expected a clean room and professional service. Instead, this stay was frustrating from start to finish. I hope management takes this seriously so future guests do not experience the same issues.

Quiet, safe, and private location. No riff raff were present. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and clean. The breakfast had a big selection of hot and cold items. The staff were very nice. The pool looked very clean and pleasant. The rooms were well stocked with Dove shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, lotion and handwashing soap. The rooms were clean, but not spotless. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Other than the rooms being clean and stain free for the most part, the front desk receptionist being amazing, everything else is sub par. Let’s start with breakfast. The cook will let food run out knowing that there is a huge work group staying on premises. What about the regular guests? This has happened multiple times. The protein selection for breakfast if there is some, will almost always be burnt and over cooked. Overall the breakfast selection could be better

Convenient location! Great room, clean, comfortable beds, great staff! My diamond pendant fell down the drain in the bathroom. The maintenance man came and took the sink apart and fished it out for me. Forever thankful! I hope the maintenance man feels valued and appreciated. Will stay again if I’m ever in the area!

Been here before, was happy to be back, and expect to return in the future. I was here with an event, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, breakfast is definitely acceptable, and better than many, and both elevators work. Only problem we experienced was with the keycards, and the system was in the midst of being changed so i expect those problems have all been fixed by now.

The staff was very nice however when we got to the hotel, there was a sign at the front desk, saying that there was a ladybug infestation in the state of Alabama and apparently they are having issues managing that, but I can appreciate the transparency and them offering also to come in vacuum the bugs or kill them if they were spotted in the room, my sink was clogged in one of my rooms so I had to get moved to another one and when I got to that room, the tray was missing out of the microwave. All small details, but I had a pretty nice experience nonetheless. Also, the breakfast was late coming out and there could’ve been more breakfast options we had to make our own oatmeal which is an inconvenience and the pancakes aren’t ready to be served.
