Charming Bed-Stuy gem—Akwaaba Mansion feels like staying with family! Rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated (loved the Afrocentric touches and comfy beds), breakfast was hearty and homemade (fresh waffles, eggs, grits—delicious start to the day). Hosts were incredibly warm and helpful with local tips. Service felt personal and attentive. Location is great—quiet residential block, easy access to Brooklyn highlights and subway, though a bit farther from Manhattan action. Perfect for a relaxing, authentic Brooklyn stay—highly recommend!
I had the most amazing experience at Akwaaba Mansion! Randy is superb at her job and offers warm customer care at the highest level. She made herself available whenever I needed her.||The property is absolutely gorgeous, meticulously clean, and beautifully kept. I often have hesitation sleeping in beds away from home, typically opting for higher end hotels. I stayed in the Regal Retreat Suite and felt 100% comfortable in the bed. My stay was so restorative that I’d recommend Akwaaba to anyone visiting Brooklyn, Philadelphia, or the Poconos. It was a lovely experience for the value.
My family and I stayed at the Akwaaba on the weekend of my daughter’s wedding in Bushwick. We all loved everything about it. The mansion was really beautiful inside and out. We had a dinner party on Friday night in the courtyard and it was truly lovely. It was a perfect space for a welcoming party and we had the nicest guy Lamar helping us all evening. He was so friendly and helpful and accommodating. People didn’t want to leave it was so much fun.
I stayed at Akawaaba Mansion in the summer of 2024.This was my first time leaving my girls who were at the 12 and 8 years. I truly enjoyed my visit and was even planning to return the following year for my birthday. When returned home and raved about the hotel to my family,I received a call from one of manager named Randy. Randy(Africa America Women) said the house keeper(African American Women) said that a white terry cloth bathrobe was missing and she believed I took it. I was completely hurt and couldn't believe that I was being accused of stealing. After I huge up with Randy,I phoned back to speak to the woman that actually greeted me the day I arrived, but Randy pick up the phone and kept apologizing and didn't let me speak with the other staff member. This has been on my mind from time to time to post what happened to me,but I held back. I am not looking for money. I just to write what I experience and not be afraid to hold back. I am a woman of color and to have this happen to me by another woman of color sickens me. It wrong no matter what the color of the person is,but I never want to visit Awaaba Mansion again.
I reserved all 4 rooms for my family and I at the Akwaaba Inn in Brooklyn in mid September for my daughter's wedding and we had the best time! The inn is absolutely beautiful and they could not have been more accommodating. I dealt with Randi who was nice, professional and flexible. We had a welcome party for about 40 guests Friday night in the courtyard and it was lovely. Lamar helped us all evening and attended to all our needs. He was so friendly and eager to help in any way. |We had delicious breakfast served in the mornings by some really nice gals (I don't remember their names) . The rooms were so nice and the beds were very comfortable. We had a celebration for my daughter at a rooftop of their favorite wine bar also in Brooklyn. We really had a wonderful time at the Akwaaba and all the guests raved about how beautiful it was. |Thanks to everyone at the Akwaaba for their welcoming hospitality <3 |Kaye Johnson
5 Stars! My partner and I had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay at Akwaaba. Randy was such a wonderful inn keeper, her energy was so infectious, grounding, and made us feel so welcome. It was such a treat to have a delicious breakfast with the other guests. The space? Oh my goodness, from the common areas to the rooms it is so well designed. It is in a super accessible neighborhood for both public transit or if you are driving. We wish we had stayed longer! It will definitely be the place we return to whenever we are back in Brooklyn and we hope to check out their other locations. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you!!
Classically beautiful and peaceful, in Brooklyn. We stayed in the Ashanti suite. The room was perfect for a romantic getaway. Our host was exceptionally attentive. Breakfast was lovely.
