Positive: Close to lots of entertainment and restaurants. Restaurant and Tiki bar on site with nightly entertainment. Great food and drinks. Negative: Silly thing since room was clean and comfortable but the in room coffee maker was small.
Room was big, no closet, small rack with 6 hangers, pool very clean and warm. Small refrigerator, no microwave. Tiki hut great, food good, music good. Everybody smokes on the grounds. Great location to everything. Not a place I would bring kids, music loud every night but fun atmosphere.
Very unprofessional behavior. Second time staying two weeks. Last year, no complaints. Reservations were made a year in advance for a 1st floor room. When checking in I was told that we would be moved to the second floor due to the fact my reservations were made with a former employee that was stealing from the establishment and did not charge the correct price. The establishment failed to communicate any issues prior to my arrival. They choose to tell me after driving over 1300 miles. Tammy tried justifying everything with "The lawyer said". She even asked if I wanted to get on "the list" to sue the former employee. My problem is with THE ESTABLISHMENT! Tammy had to make some calls to get permission to allow my disabled husband to have a first floor room with the former employee rate. I witnessed 95 year old disabled Navy veteran and his wife forced to the second floor with no elevator. Just cruel. Both years I have seen the owner visit. She's not a very welcoming/friendly owner. The establishment should have contacted me prior to my arrival or inform me that next year the rates will be increasing. We will never return again!
This was our third time at the resort, and it'll be our last. It's unfortunate, as we like the area and the tiki bar vibe. We were there for 7 days, and during our stay, the room was never cleaned once. The sheets were not changed; we had to chase down our own towels and toilet paper. No coffee supplies. The only time the garbage was emptied was when the front desk attendant did it himself, after we asked for two days. Braydon (sp?) was very pleasant and helpful. When we arrived, the floor was filthy and full of sand. It was not clean when we arrived. Very disappointed.
Second time staying here and it’s by far my favorite hotel in the area. I had to wait until the second time to leave the review so I could get the lady’s name at the front desk, Tammy, she is AMAZING. Her positive attitude right as you enter sets the tone for the place. The hotel is an older and nothing wrong with that, the rooms have all been renovated and modern, very clean. The beds are also very comfortable. I only have good things to say. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
We have had the best month here at Dolphin Key. Tammy is so awesome and helpful at the front desk meeting all requests with ease. And Braydon the night host was also awesome. Jeff was great on a very slight maintenance issue. Tara was our main house keeper and met all expectations and then some. We will definitely be back. Can’t wait til next year. ❤️
This was our third time at Dolphin Key. The pool, tiki bar, food, and entire staff were amazing. The rooms are not. The resort is older, and that had never been an issue for us. Housekeeping was never great for past stays but it was non-existent this trip. After our second night we were told staff had called in and that’s why the room hasn’t been cleaned. On day 3 we had to ask for the garbage to be emptied, and had noticed a couple of the other rooms had placed their cans outside the room. We were provided one garbage for the room. We had to go to the desk each day to get towels and toilet paper. The room was not super clean to start with, but having been there before, my expectations weren’t super high. But after zero housekeeping this visit, the issues with towels/tp, etc, it became irritating, especially as we began noting how dirty the floors and baseboards really were. While at the front desk waiting to ask for supplies we overheard conversations between the front desk and housekeeper about which rooms needed to be clean based, on arrivals for the day. It was clear that no other rooms would be cleaned, as there wasn’t enough staff to accommodate anything beyond arriving guests. And she was saying she was going to struggle to get those cleaned in time. My husband overheard convos from people checking in saying their room hadn’t been cleaned, or they were given the wrong room number. Braden, the guy at the front desk, was really friendly and was as accommodating as he could be, given the situation. Even one of the housekeepers asked us questions about what we needed while waiting to check out. So, zero complaints about the staff. The resort needs to hire more staff. Plain and simple.
