Econo Lodge Cedar Rapids South

I stopped at this hotel during my road trip, and it was a great value for the price. Econo Lodge Cedar Rapids South had everything I needed - a quiet room, friendly staff, and good Wi-Fi. The bed was comfortable, and check-in was quick. Nothing fancy, but perfectly convenient. Highly recommend for budget travelers.

This place is a straight zero stars. This is the most disappointing hotel I've ever walked into. The lobby was nice. Thats was it. Our room had broken and dirt filled light switches. We paid for a smoke free hotel room and the smell/ environment was so intense with smoke my coworker with health conditions was having a rash outbreak. The towels had yellow stains, both the sink and bathtubs had black smudge prints and hair, the bed had urin stains all over the corners along the bedframe. (Most likely from a dog) I took a towel and wiped the edge of the bed and urin came off on the rag. The ceiling had burn marks/ mold. We were in the room for 5 minutes tops. We did NOT stay here. This place should be shut down. Discussing! If I could share the photos on here I would!

Non-smoking room smelled heavily of smoke, the chest-of-drawers were broken and falling off of the runners, there was a cigarette burn hole in the top blanket of the bed, the bathroom exhaust fan did not work, the tv remote did not work. I will say, the parking lot had decent camera surveillance which was good because I definitely witnessed people scoping out vehicles in the parking lot. Overall, did not seem like the best part of town, the hotel was lack luster, and smelled awful. I also have not received my $50 deposit back for the accommodation room insurance.

This hotel is legitimately disgusting. The entire second floor smells like cigarettes. Aside from the smell, there were 2-3 inches of what looked to be water damage on the door and torn carpet. The beds were made up nicely but the entire place seemed generally dingy. We were going to be staying with a 2 year old and 5 year old and there was just no way. We checked back out and drove the rest of the way home. From the less than 5 minutes we were in the room, my mom and I both had headaches, that’s how strong the smell was. When we told the man at the counter that we couldn’t stay because of the smell, he offered to spray Febreze. I declined and asked him if he could do any refund and he said the best he could do was refund the deposit ($50, to ensure no one is smoking in the rooms). Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Checkin was good, the gal at the desk was friendly and courteous. The rooms were unclean and nasty, bedding looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Our room had roaches. Will not be staying again

Awful stay. Smells like fish throughout the hotel. The room wasn’t the worst for a one nights stay until the morning when we found a Cockroach! Disgusting. Brought it up to the front desk and all they did was let us know they will bring it up to the exterminator. Never staying in this place again.

Walls were stained up with yellow lines coming down the walls looked like nicotine. U can tell they don't wipe down the walls when they clean the rooms. Have cockroaches crawling in front of the TV when u trying to relax and watch TV and now u cant because u gotta try and catch it before it gets into your things. Customer service was excellent no complaints there. Quite hotel. They need an exterminator come in and spray because within a few hours I have killed quite a few cockroaches and thats unacceptable.
