South Wind Motel

A very cool, renovated, retro, cozy hotel, former motel. Don't be put off when you pull into the parking lot and you feel like you've pulled into an hourly motel because it's nothing of the sort. Very comfortable and very clean inside. Completely renovated and modernized. The rooms come with record players (like old-style turntables) with a few classic vinyls waiting to be played. The room is very well equipped, and in case you forgot anything, the lobby has 24-hour access with toothbrushes, hair ties, and whatever else you may have forgotten. Super convenient check-in and check-out, and great location. Very comfortable bedding. My wife wants to buy the pillows.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean. Easy check in and check out. Coffee and tea provided. A short walk to the heart of German Village. The whole place was super cute. The bed and bedding were unbelievably comfortable. Also, free parking in areas like these is hard to find. We appreciate it is included. All in all, we highly recommend staying here.

I love staying at the Southwind Motel. The location - easy from the expressway, the access through a code texted before arrival, the lovely rooms, all make for an enjoyable experience. It is also close to German Village, which offers wonderful eating options. Southwind motel gets a thumbs up from me!

We had a wonderful experience spending our anniversary here! The retro-style theme is incredible and property is stunning. It's located in german village with so many restaurants and bars within walking distance - this made for a fun evening out! Our hosts were very thoughtful about their guests' experience. For example, the detailed instructions on how to use the pour over coffee maker and the decor like record player and vintage camera definately added to the ambiance. Check-in and check-out were all done by phone and very easy. Absolutely love the creativity of this place. Strongly recommend checking it out!

Stayed at the south wind over the holidays and it was fantastic. Great location in the historic German Village, close to restaurants and shops. Contactless check in made it easy, and the locally sourced soaps and amenities were great. Will definitely be staying here again the next time we’re in Columbus.

Lovely place, never wanted to leave 🩵 Clean, spacious, attention to detail. lovely walkable city. Adored the vinyls. Water was hot. The chemex coffee provided was perfect. Tried Law Bird’s cocktail bar and emmett’s coffee shop as per their recommendation, just a quick walk down the road and amazing beverages at both. Quick drive to pretty much anywhere you’d like to go in the area.
