Most of the problems others have described, I also had. They hit me with the $100 deposit at check-in, which ate into my limited funds for the trip. So thanks for that. The mattress was awful, more like a fancy box spring. The TV only worked the first night. The second night I just used my tablet. The AC unit sounds like an old V8 starting up. I really wish I had stayed somewhere else on the one vacation I get every 2 or 3 years. The only nice thing I have to say is that the shower has good pressure and gets hot. And, it's walking distance to the USS Lexington. Except for the pool there are NO amenities.
This is a hard review to write because there is good and some not so good. The hotel is one of the best in condition compared to what I see around it. We chose this hotel because it’s dog friendly and the deposit is fully refundable. Location is great. You’re close to everything. I love the option that the beach is right there. The staff is exceptional! They are one of the only hotels that I’ve stayed at that took your comfort to heart. If you need anything at all they will get it and bring it to your door faster than you can get back to your room. The only cons is one electrical switch didn’t work. The chair wasn’t in too good shape. Otherwise the room was in good shape. I will say I clean every single hotel room I stay at as soon as I get there. So I’m actively looking for dirt. Above the head board was a bit dirty. Normal guest might. It even notice this. I do. The front desk was kind enough to bring me a broom and dust pan to keep the sand out of the room. That’s not on the hotel it just is what is is staying on a beach. The root question is would I stay here again or recommend this place? I would for pet owners. It worked out well for us.
The shower was dirty, the bed sheets did not appear clean, and the toiletries provided were already used and half-empty. That was disappointing right away. The biggest issue, however, was accessibility. There are three full flights of stairs just to reach the first floor, with no ramp or elevator. This was not clearly disclosed. My mother has had two knee replacements and physically could not access the room. When we raised concerns, we received little help and no real communication from the host. I strongly recommend future guests carefully confirm accessibility details before booking, especially if anyone in your group has mobility limitations.
This was my absolutely favorite hotel in Corpus Christi. It is a little outdated but super clean. The young lady and gentlemen were super professional and so accommodating. The pool was beautiful. The view was beautiful. I will definitely stay here again
This hotel was okay. It's clean and the staff were nice. It's within a mile or so of the Aircraft carrier Lexington and the Aquarium, both of which were on our "to-do" list. We were expecting a resort hotel where we could actually see the ocean from our "ocean view" room. While the beach is a short walk away, and we saw some bit of water from our room, there is a large multistory restaurant that blocked most of the view. This hotel has no elevator, and all of the rooms are accessible only by an outside concrete stairway. If I had known this ahead of time, I would not have stayed here. The rooms appear to be spotty in quality; it looks like some have been renovated with new furniture, smart TV's, etc. Our room had not been upgraded, so the furniture looked like late "thrift store" items, the TV was old/had no apps, and the mattress on the bed had a deep depression on one side as if a patient from My 600-lb life had sat on it a while- not at all comfortable. If you stay here, you're taking your chances.
Terrible experience. After arriving to our room the commode was clogged. I called the front office to ask if someone could fix it. We were so tired from the trip we didn't feel like moving to another room. It took 1 hour and no one showed up. I then called to ask for a plunger so I can fix it myself in which I did. The TV remote control batteries were dead so you had to manually move the channels and the volume. The following morning went to try to make coffee and a little coffee machines that are in the room with broken didn't work. Bad experience all around. Plus you have to pay for your own parking spot!
Small roach near desk. Desk had drawers that wouldn't shut so they stuck out a bit. Needed to watch out for them when getting up in the middle of the night. Door wouldn't close easily so had to slam it to shut. Location is beautiful and needs are comfy though.
