Hotel at The Detroit Club

Delightful lux stay at Detroit "old school" establishment… everything from the exceptional staff, fun decor, quality mini bar, great dining, cigar bar, to the wonderful SOAK Spa made it special. Dining at Bohemia was wonderful, especially the pork belly starter, and not to mention the extensive wine list. The included fresh breakfast was a nice added touch. We’ll definitely stay here the next time we’re in town.

One of the best places I have ever stayed. From champagne at check in, flash forward to the following day when they had already pulled my car up front. Warmed. Every single staff member was incredibly generous and helpful. The library bar felt like I was sitting at home with friends. Great craft cocktails. The room was one of the best I have stayed in. Beautifully decorated. Beautifully laid out. The continental breakfast was lovely. Everything about the boutique hotel was a 10. I highly recommend spending time here. I know I will return. Great evening with a great historic vibe. The fish was excellent and the chowder reminded me of Boston. The service matched the quality of food. A definite recommend.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Detroit Club Hotel. We were greeted with champagne at check-in, which set the perfect tone for a luxurious stay. The historical decor is stunning and full of character, with a dark but vibrant history that gives the whole place a unique charm. Our suite was perfect for a romantic staycation — the enormous jetted tub was a total highlight. Dinner at Bohemia was fantastic! The food was elegant, made with high-quality ingredients, and every dish was packed with flavor. If you're looking for a luxurious, historic, and romantic getaway in Detroit, this is it. Can't wait to come back!

I did not stay at the hotel. I had a virgin drink. It was very good. The location is okay, but parking is not easy. The view is not pictures. Who wants to look at the traffic?

From the moment I pulled our car up at the Detroit Club to the time of our departure, we were met with exceptional hospitality. Guest services offered a glass of champagne at check-in, the valet offered to take our bags, and we were asked if they could schedule dinner at the hotel. The decor was reminiscent of MeadowBrook mansion, eclectic and tasteful. Dinner was exceptional along with the service. We stayed in room 204. My only complaint is the environmental controls were not working properly so we turned the heat off because it was unbearable hot. The room is located across from the elevator and stairs so you do get more sound from the bar downstairs. Other than that, the bed and pillows were perfectly cozy. We slept well. I liked that there was a stocked mini fridge and snacks available, although we didn’t partake in this trip. I look forward to my next visit here.

Our experience at The Detroit Club Hotel was the single most disappointing hotel stay I’ve ever had. The biggest issue? There was barely any hot water for showers—especially frustrating when you’re paying for what’s supposed to be a high-end experience. After mentioning it to the front desk, the staff acted like it was our imagination and offered no real solution—just vague excuses and a condescending attitude. It felt like we were being gaslit instead of helped. Between the lack of basic amenities and the rude customer service, we won’t be returning. Not worth the price or the frustration. Thanks for ruining our birthday weekend.
