Trumbull And Porter Hotel- Detroit Downtown

O recently went on a trip with my mother to Detroit for the first time ever. I have to say that we were both very pleased with the stay here and will definitely be back. The front desk service was amazing. They were so friendly and very helpful. We asked about places to eat and they helped us with finding a place that would deliver it right to the hotel. The food was amazing. Absolutely a wonderful experience.

My stay at this building was horrific. There were dirty fingerprints on my towels, making me question the cleanliness of the entire bathroom. I did not feel comfortable enough to shower. The main elevator was out of service. Also, the Hotel advertises a restaurant that legitimately does not exist. When I questioned the staff they seemed confused why they would have a restaurant when it is written on the wall with an arrow pointing to a specific direction. Furthermore, the front desk refuses to speak with the Priceline representative assigned regarding desiresd refund/ partial refund. Unprofessional.

EDIT BECAUSE THEY DELETED THIS AND REFUSED TO GIVE BACK OVER $600!!!! We live in the area and decided to get a cute room for the weekend. When we got into our room, it smelled like weed. Whatever, we decided to just look past it, just didn’t want to get blamed for anything since we are sober people. The room looked a little dirty overall too. Then we noticed someone had straight up left weed on a book on the table. Again, decided to toss it and look past it. Went out to dinner and came back a few hours later to the BIGGEST roaches I have seen before on the floor. Again, we live in the city so it’s not our first time seeing them lmao. But these things are huge!! Definitely not worth the over $600 we paid for two nights. We were told that since we booked through third party they couldn’t do absolutely anything for us. Genuinely so disappointed, I’ve heard good things about this place from other friends in the area. Save your money.

Stefanie did an amazing job cleaning our room. I left my smart ring there and when I came back to see if she had found it she was honest and gave it back to me! Amazing. Hotel is beautiful and smells great inside. Very minimalistic resort vibes, decor is not too crazy, beds are cozy, and bathrooms are modern and clean. The shower doesn’t have a full door though, just half. No microwave. Lots to do nearby, excellent price and parking was $10, the staff was kind enough to only charge me for my car and it for my partners too. Check in was at 4pm and checkout was at 11am the following morning. The bar was amazing! Spicy margarita highly recommended.

Kind of tucked away(a plus) but not too far from food and the hwy. The service was great! The rooms could use a little more updating. The glass wall for the shower is a complete miss; water literally everywhere. But everything was clean. The walls were suuuuuuuper thin too btw.

Giving this property 3 stars for the front desk team alone, but overall service is a 1 due to poor communication. The front desk agent was incredibly kind and welcoming—prompt, helpful, and professional during both check-in and my immediate check-out. The lobby was clean, and the restaurant/bar area appeared nice. However, the room itself was unacceptable. There were stains on the rug on the floor, mold in the bathroom, and a broken bed. I went downstairs right away to cancel my three-night stay. The front desk canceled the additional two nights, and I requested the General Manager’s contact information to pursue a refund for the first night. Despite multiple emails and voicemails, I have received no response. I was charged over $1,000 for the full stay, and there has been zero communication since my stay beginning of October. Service starts from the top down, and I am extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and follow-through from management. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this property and will not stay here again.
