Peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what I needed. My mini staycation at Morehead Manor was such a beautiful experience. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to slow down, rest, and recharge. Monica and Daniel were wonderful hosts—so kind, attentive, and thoughtful. They truly make you feel at home while also creating a space that feels special and serene. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway to reset and take care of yourself, I highly recommend Morehead Manor. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
It was a 10. Such gracious hospitality and we enjoyed the Tiger Room! We loved all the windows in it and how roomy it was. We loved the original tile in the bathroom and the fainting couch. We even had a reading area outside of our room, with a refrigerator. The chocolate cake was mighty fine. The Icing on the cake though were the wind chimes. They were enchanting and the entire stay was magical. The host and hostess have the perfect fit for making one feel at home. Daniel and Monica are down to Earth and are very kind people. We have been to Durham so many times, but have never felt more at home there.
My wife and I spent three wonderful nights here. Breakfast-amazing and accommodating to our vegan diets Location- can’t be bear. Walkable to SO many bars, restaurants, and Durham culture. Half mile walk to American Tobacco campus House- BOCCE! Full sized bocce court was cool. We were in the Jasmine room. You could kind of hear cars the first morning but I’m a light sleeper on the last two nights which were weekends I slept great. Games everywhere, a sitting room with tv and dvds, an awesome porch, outside swings. You would have to try to not relax Hosts- Daniel and Monica were great. Help and inviting without being intrusive and overwhelming. They have really interesting stories about Durham and have lived interesting lives. We for sure would stay again. If you’re going to see a Duke game as we did. This is a great spot for it. Go Duke 😀
I so enjoyed my visit at the Morehead Manor. It felt like home away from home. Daniel and Monica are gracious hosts. The breakfasts were delicious and the entire home is warm and inviting. I will definitely stay again and recommend it.
Carol and I love staying at historic properties. The Morehead Manor is a beautiful home in Durham. The owners of the manor are wonderful, welcoming people. They prepared a wonderful breakfast for us and sat with us while we ate. The conversation was exceptional and fun. We learned a lot from them. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we got a wonderful nights rest. The Morehead Manor is also located close to downtown and for people who like wonderful early morning walks The American tobacco Trail is within walking distance from the home. About 3/4 of a mile. It is also closed to great restaurants and Duke University.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED it!!! I came to Durham for work and it was recommended to us. The atmosphere is so welcoming and calm, I definitely preferred it over a traditional hotel. The FOOD was 10/10 and they were very accommodating to our schedule. We enjoyed having many spaces to work from like the porches and backyard. We even got a second in the sun on the swing. I would love to come back when it’s a bit warmer. My coworker and I already decided it will be our home away from home whenever we’re in Durham.
Enjoyable and relaxing stay at nationally ranked Bed & Breakfast in downtown Durham, NC. Perfect location for amazing views, proximity to downtown Durham area universities, nightlife, museums, and restaurants. Comfy beautifully decorated sitting rooms and heated, spacious bedrooms with private baths. Fully stocked coffee and tea bar with appetizing snacks provided throughout the day, Chilled water carafes you can take up to your room. Best frittata I tasted in my entire life for breakfast the first day! Friendly and accommodating proprietors adjusted 2nd day breakfast for my guest’s diet restrictions with carrot cake oatmeal that was so good, filling, and perfect to send us out into cold weather with full, warm belly! I didn’t realize there weren’t TVs in each room when I made reservations but there is Wi-Fi you can use for your devices. The TV, a large collection of movies, games, and books are in the sitting room downstairs. Because this B&B is on a main one way street near downtown and it’s historic down to original windows, you can hear a lot of the street traffic in my room. A TV in the room on low could’ve blocked out that noise and helped me sleep better the first night. You also had to hold down the handle on the toilet for it to flush completely. Would definitely stay again especially during warmer weather when I can take advantage of the bocce courts and many outdoor porches to enjoy the view.
