The Durham Hotel

We really enjoyed the weekend brunch at the hotel. It was easy to make reservations and find parking near the hotel. The food was outstanding! I had the Farmer's Omelet and my friend had the Guac Toast. Everything was fresh and delicious and the portions were huge. Our server was also attentive and provided wonderful service to our table, in spite of a full restaurant. Will absolutely recommend and hope to come back soon!

I can only speak to the cafe in the lobby. The aesthetic is nice. The music is way too loud for this to be a space for people to do work or even hold a conversation. The employees at the bar…exist. They weren’t rude but they weren’t very hospitable. They were very chatty with one another about their own personal business for many to hear. I personally didn’t like the drink I ordered. It was also assumed that I wanted my drink warm (that’s on me for not clarifying but it would have been nice to have been asked). The server who brought out my food looked like she was having the worst day ever. She just seemed very sad. The food was simply ok. I wouldn’t come back unless it was for an event.

Lovely hotel. Very cozy lobby! Such a fun hip spot to hang out. I have to admit that the food is not as wonderful over the last few years. In years past it was really delicious, but it seems they put less emphasis now on their food. Still one of my favorite spots to hang out, but I come more for the atmosphere than for delicious food.

Perfect venue for visiting Durham. Close to downtown restaurants. My only complaint would be the coffee area, to many "breakfast " meetings and solo computer users taking up a lot of large tables so not enough room for residents to get a table, one area was all reserved but we sat there as it was the only way we could get somewhere suitable. The roof top bar was well stocked and welcoming.

After booking a room at a nearby more expensive hotel and being highly disappointed, I came to the front desk requesting to see a room before I committed. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room was pleasant, cheerful, clean quiet and inviting. The hotel has a lively atmosphere with a lounge providing books, games, food and drinks. There's a beautiful scenic rooftop bar. It was perfect for our girls get away. I highly recommend this hotel.

I had dinner and drinks on the Rooftop for the first time and it was a definite vibe! The food, service and drinks were top notch and combined with the million dollar views it just made my experience unforgettable. Thank you Durham Hotel!

Beautiful hotel with a great roof top bar. Would be an awesome place but the bartender at the bar was so rude and unwelcoming. I mean we were having a great time enjoying our stay and this guy ruined it. Sometimes service matters and that gets forgotten. Might not be back because he was so rude…shame.
