Lighthouse Inn & Restaurant

We recently drove from Chicago to Boston and back and we overnight in Erie which is halfway.||I was so happy to find the Lighthouse Inn, a family owned and operated "motor court" type motel. We loved its simplicity; authenticity and true "creature comforts" so lacking in some places we've stayed. We loved the parking right in front of our first floor room, the brass key on a room tag, immaculate room and bath with a comfortable bed with crisp, fresh linen, great "air quality"--(perfect temp, no weird smells), no noise, black out curtains, powerful shower, and full service TV. In other words, ALL the elements we really needed to rest comfortably. Next to it ran a beautiful stream, autumn colored trees, and very close was the shore of Lake Erie. It was so economical; we treated ourselves to a killer breakfast at a nearby 75-year-old aluminum clad diner in the morning. The owners are a friendly couple who personally handled every aspect of our stay. It is now our automatic booking going to and from Boston when we visit our family.||

Very nice, clean place. A little off the beaten path but the owners and the clean rooms, quiet atmosphere and at a very reasonable cost make the difference. Will definitely keep coming back every time I come to Erie.

We knew we needed a place to stay around Erie. Found this place on google maps, called ahead, and got a room. Check in was easy. The room was dated but clean. The motel still uses actual metal keys, which I love. We had no issues and would stay again.

We stayed here as there were good reviews but our room, which opens to the outside, smelled strongly of smoke. We should have asked for a non smoking room but as most places now are 100% non smoking we didn't realise we needed to ask. The beds were really soft so we woke with sore backs. It needed an update. We did feel safe here but we wouldn't return. We paid $96 - not worth it. ||They recommended a place to eat dinner in town - the food there was awful.||Not for us

I've always loved the nostalgia of this place

My husband and I stayed over at this motel 2 weeks ago. It was very clean and the bed was REALLY soft..SO nice! It's a little dated but for the price it's perfect for a couple night stay.||The wineries are only about 10 minutes away and Presque Isle 15 minutes. Easy check in and check out. When we visit again we will stay here!

Just came in for brunch. Very clean and staff was very friendly. Cranberry juice is way too concentrated and my friend couldn’t even drink it. Other than that though the food was delicious!! Very reasonably priced as well. Cute little place. A little dated but that doesn’t stop the great service!
