The Villas of Amelia Island

The outside of the building is run down and needs cleaned and painted. My room was adequate for a Days Inn in the 1980's. I was disappointed, but that is not the real problem. The problem is that the room stunk like sewer gas. I dropped my bags off, left the back door open and left for 10 hours. When I returned the stench was still there but tolerable. I would have wanted to change rooms but the complex is so large and poorly marked I didnt want to deal with that. I woke up early in the morning and the stench was back full strength. There is no way the maid and the last guest didn't notice this. You must have been made aware of this problem before. You obviously chose to ignore it, knowing the it is such a pain to change rooms you could push it off room 2527 on me.

In my experiance the villa was like a small apartment. Ample space king size bed, kitchen living area. Ideal, only thing was a small musty smell. But opened the windows and aired it out it was ok. Was there for a conference in the Ritz, but was enjoyable.

I went to gate security guy was extremely rude to me with his attitude and nasty tone and told me I'm not on the list caused me several hours delay. White boy with thick accent lied and said manager on back when I asked, then he ignored me then I asked for manager again he told me manager not here, then he didn't give me address for unit, just a map, I had to keep driving around. Then door to unit not opening when I swipe card, I went to office several times about it white female keep giving me run around, then she told to go back to unit then call her which made no sense, then I ask to change unit, but she ignored my request and continued to talk over me. Then she said she'll change the cards, but I saw that she didn't activate it. She was also watching to see if other people looking as she did that. Then I was told they'll send someone to fix door, I waited several hours outside it turned dark and noone showed up. I called front desk again they had me on hold for vert long time, this manager finally answered she told me she can cancel reservation and I'll get refund, then she change her story and said I need to call third party to get refund back, then she rudely disconnected the phone. These people are very unprofessional and ruined the experience and the holidays for me.

Positive: Beautiful scenery. Negative: Room was outdated in my opinion. Housekeeping came to my door twice before 1100 checkout, to see if we had indeed checked out yet.

Positive: gorgeous. so helpful from the guard to the front desk to customer service and transportation. I am beyond thankful for hotel employee who helped me tremendously for my daughter?s surprise engagement to check in early to allow for decorations. perfect! Negative: no- it was perfect even the rain was manageable

The room was disappointing — it felt outdated and had a strong, persistent musty smell that made it uncomfortable to stay in. For the price paid, it definitely didn’t meet expectations. While the rest of the facilities were decent, the lack of a designated beach area for guests — and not even offering basic amenities like chairs or umbrellas — felt very underwhelming for a Florida property.
